Activity #1
Hot spots will be spread out all across the
gymnasium floor. Half of the class will be
standing on the hot spots without a basketball.
The other half will have a basketball and will be
lined up on the baseline.
Students with the basketballs objective is to
dribble down the court without the students on
the hotspots being able to tap their ball away
from them.
Students on the hotspots must have two feet on
hotspots at all times
Switch roles after a couple of minutes or so
Extension: move hotspots closer together so
that theres less room for the dribblers to get
around them
Extension: allow students on hotspots to take
one foot off of hotspot, like a pivot in basketball
Extension: if students ball gets tapped away
they must put ball away and get on a hotspot
Demonstration: activity will be demonstrated by
the teacher and a student
Teacher Positioning: teacher will be moving
around the perimeter of the gymnasium giving
out feedback and making sure students are
following the rules
Checking for Understanding: teacher will ask

each other to increase the distance of the pass
Demonstration: activity will be demonstrated by
teacher and a student
Teacher Positioning: teacher will be positioned
in the middle of the gym observing all the
students
Checking for Understanding: teacher will ask
students what theyre supposed to do when they
