Read the story and answer the questions.

Mahsuri was the only daughter of Mak Alang and Pak Andak. They
lived on Langkawi island. Mahsuri grew up to be a very beautiful
woman.Soon Mahsuri married Wan Darus, the village warrior and brother
to the chieftain. They lived happily.
Wan Mahora, wife of the chieftain, Datuk Seri Karma Vijaya, was
jealous of Mahsuris popularity. She was always trying to send Wan
Darus off to war. When there was trouble from the Siamese borders, she
persuaded her husband to send Wan Darus to defend the state.
As soon as Wan Darus left, Wan Mahora immediately spread
rumours about Mahsuri. She said Mahsuri was not faithful to her
husband. One day, the villagers saw Mahsuri and Deramang were talking
and laughing at the market. They believed that Wan Mahora was right
about Mahsuri. Mahsuri who was pregnant, said she was innocent.
Datuk Seri Karma Vijaya believed in his wifes lies. He told the
villagers that Mahsuri should die so Langkawi could be released from the
hardships that the vilagers suffered. Mahsuri calmly accepted her fate.
Datuk Seri Karma Vijaya then quickly stabbed Mahsuri. To everyones
shock, white blood flowed from her chest. This was a sign that mahsuri
was innocent. As she was dying, Mahsuri put a curse that Langkawi would
suffer for seven generations.
