This article of the International Journal of Sports Medicine studied and did research on
how listening to music during a warm up effects the physical abilities you will have
after the warm up. In this study their method to conduct research were to put 12
physical education students through a 10 minute warm up using various ballistic
stretches and light aerobic exercises, four times with and without listening to music.
They found out that the students all had better energy level and athletic performance
when participating in that certain gym class activity. This research is to help people

This article studied what the effects of music can have on terminally ill patients and to
see if it will decrease the severity of their illness. To conduct their research they had 9
white (5 males and 4 females) terminally ill patients listen to music and then were to be
observed in behavior and attitude. The results of this test showed that the patients did not
show any improvements in the severity of their illness but graphically speaking they
think that music might have been effective. This research could be used to help the
treatment of terminally ill patients.

This article did a study to get a solution on if music improves sleep quality in students in
college. There was a study done to 98 students, all between the ages 18-28 who were
currently enrolled in a college. In the study they had students listen to two music types,
one night of audio books and another night classical music before they go to bed and to
see study how they wake up and if it helped them fall asleep. The results showed that the
students have a significant increase in sleep quality when listening to music than to
listening to the audio books or not listening to music at all. This research can be used to
help illnesses such as sleep insomnia and people with sleeping problems.

This article told about a study that was performed to see if music had a cognitive effect
on adults and children. The study was between two groups of people, Canadian
undergraduates who were to take an IQ test and 5 year old Japanese girls who were to

draw, both these groups of people were to listen a musical piece by Mozart. The results
showed that for Canadian undergraduates that people who listened to Mozart had a much
better IQ test than without listening to music. In the Japanese girls group, studies showed
that when listening to Mozart and drawing that they drew for a significant longer time
than without listening to music. This research can be used to help cognitive troubled
individuals in performing tasks.

This article did research on an experiment that was conducted to see if playing music in a
retail store will affect the mood and behavior of shoppers in a store. To conduct study
they played different types of music and study some shoppers behavior and choice of
interest when buying something. The results showed no correlation between music and
shopping behavior. This research can help store owners for business and stressed out
shoppers.

This article did research on the effects of music and driving. They did research on several
regular American citizens who have valid licenses. In the study they had the
experimenters listen to different types of music genres with different types of tempos to
see how it affected their driving. The results found out that the music had an effect on the

heart rates of the drivers and the up tempo music increased the heart rate which led to
higher driving speeds. This could help police officers and traffic officers with preventing
speeding drivers on the streets.

This article did a study on the effects that music has on people with Dementia and that
have language problems. They studied and did an experiment on 10 individuals who
unfortunately had Dementia. The experiment consisted of observing behavior and
language progression after the patients listened to music. The results did not show any
significant statistics but they did show a minor increase in communication with the
patient and their caregiver. This study can be used to help the treatment of individuals
with Dementia with the therapy of music.

This article did an examination of how music has a correlation on the learning of a new
foreign language. The study examined students at a college who were taking a language
course in Spanish. They were to listen to music when they studied throughout the week to
prepare for a test at the end of the week. The results showed a major increase in student
exam scores when they listening to music from the language they are learning to
comprehend and better understand how the new language works. These results can be
used to help students of a new language with a new approach to studying.

This article examined the effect of music and the psychological effect of people on the
waiting list at service organizations. The study involved studying the behavioral effects of
peoples reactions toward the service company after playing sad music and happy music.
The results showed a significant increase customer satisfaction towards a company when
happy music was played as opposed to sad music. This information can be used to help
service organizations that require consumers to wait for service and achieve customer
satisfaction.

Effect of Music by Mozart on Energy Expenditure on Growing

This article examined the effects of music and the energy level of infants. The study was
designed on 20 healthy body weight healthy infants who were to listen to Mozart music
for 20 minutes and then after will be observed for any increase level of energy level in
infants. The results showed that the music of Mozart did decrease the level of Energy
Expenditure on infants after listening for 20 minutes. Which was expected because calm
music should make you calm. The results can be used to help parents nurture their babies
when they need to relax.
