SCORING RUBRIC

INTERACTIVE STUDENT NOTEBOOK

LEFT PAGES

Your Interactive Student Notebook will be graded using a 5-point rubric at the end
of every unit. Every unit begins with a table of contents where each topic should be
recorded. Each page should be titled, dated, and numbered. Each right page
contains content relevant to our course (notes and class problems). Each left page
demonstrates your processing of the content. Meaningful color is necessary in
retaining concepts you are expected to use color to emphasize major ideas or
enhance your processing of information.
Reflection of your work will take place on the last left page of each unit. A
parent/significant adult review will also be required on the last right page of each
unit.
Your Interactive Student Notebook is your record of learning in this class. You are
responsible for keeping it up to date (including when you are absent or tardy). If you
lose your Interactive Student Notebook, you will have to recreate it from the
beginning of the most recent unit AND will be responsible for any previous units for
review.

or that you liked it. Your reflection should be a writing sample that
addresses the following:

your best work. Why did you select these pages? What do these
pages say about you as a student in this class?
Grade you notebook based on the rubric. Why do you think your
notebook deserves this grade? How has your notebook
improved from the past notebooks/past units?
What skills and/or strategies were most helpful towards your
success in this class? Explain.

help you improve these areas?
