I Am Batman: Unemployment Issue
Unemployment rose above 200 million people since 2008 to the current times of 2015
(Head). Unemployment is an issue worldwide in which the labor organizations decline and more
self-running technology takes over the jobs of these 200 million plus people of the world. Many
factors are to blame for a mass of people unemployed such as an advancement in technology and
over population which can cause the youth having to fight for jobs with the elderly veterans that
work. Karl Marxs communist manifesto talks about capitalism and how the proletariat working
class struggle the most while the bourgeoisie meet their needs with extra to spare. If the
proletariat working class cannot meet their basic requirements to work, then they become
unemployed and struggle to find a job in the competitive market of capitalism. In the United
States of America, the more jobs they create the more debt they go in because of its high cost for
labor. As a rich individual with a lot of power, a couple of laws will be instated in my society that
will lower the amount of unemployed individuals struggling to find work such as creating a
private organization called Gloom Co. that will take taxes from the government to fund school
teachers that are willing to provide the best of education, create a green work campaign for
volunteers to make money off of cleaning the earth, and create schools to teach people the basic
maintenance that goes into modern day machines.

Smart machines make a huge impact on unemployment because it does not need to be
regulated or paid in labor while still doing the job efficiently and faster but a big change Gloom
Co. will do is create schools that teach individuals whom jobs have been replaced to maintain the
machines. Maintenance in machines is a big part of how a machine is functional because robots
do not have a mind of its own therefor do not completely self-repair themselves and the cost of
an engineer to come and take their time to fix it is higher because there is less. The schools will
set up a system to teach individuals how to run the machines so that they can control the basics
of what they do and how they do it in order to save money on high labor engineers (Merlino).
The individuals will be the remote to control the machines so instead of having it self-automated,
they still have to put effort into doing the same make way jobs (Miller). School is a hard thing
for a lot of people which is why this is not the only change that will happen. The basic teachings
will be the functions of what the machines do and also the proper cleaning for the machine to
continue the job in a clean way. More workers prefer to do hands on training rather than study or
learn numbers which is why the schools will provide pure hands on experience instead of taking
workers back to school (IEEE). A lot of people like to physically do things such as create, clean,
and put apart materials which is why another big change in my society is the production of green
work.
Green work applies to many of the volunteers out there that take time out of their lives to
clean, recycle, and make sure the environment is looking good and healthy. The government will
use a portion of taxes to fund the workers who volunteer, creating jobs for a big amount of
people. Having a clean environment to work under creates cleaner land to make more buildings
or companies to take spots in a clean area. Their jobs will be to maintain the society to its full
and healthiest way by cleaning up trash, recycling, and not using so many chemicals to clean the

earth. The recycled products that the workers collect will then be sold to other companies that
will use it to make machines out of it or other products. A thrown away can of soda could be
used to create the case of a new iPhone. Jobs can be created by paying minimum wage to people
who would normally volunteer. Rural areas outside my society struggle with the low cost labor
and unsafe work environment but Gloom Co.s green work will even be outsourced around the
whole world in order to make sure that the whole world is clean. It will be an efficient way of
using labor to clean the world and reuse products instead of wasting new material in a new
product.
This society follows a lot of the basics from capitalism because the ones who can go to
school and learn how to maintain the robots would be considered as the bourgeoisie because they
are able to control the means of production and the proletariat are the green workers who make
the bare minimum by using hard labor. School is a major part in moving up in class because
more education and degrees provide more options to go into work. Just as capitalism is, the poor
stay poor and the rich stay rich, the ideology still remains but education is the main key to
change in class as the poor (Derber).
The most important key for the future is education because it teaches kids to move up in
life and settle for nothing less than the best. After 2008, youth face many hardships with trying to
find jobs because they settle for mediocre and are not tested to go for the big success (Institute of
Southeast Asian Studies). College drop outs for example usually struggle finding work or settling
for a minimum wage job like McDonalds and move up in the company due to experience. The
development of technology and advancement in culture functions with the youth learning in
schools. Although the youth may be given tons of work and prompts for school, a main issue in
the advancements in school is the teachers (Rothstein). Teachers pile constant amounts of work

on students in the early years such as middle school and high school depleting the enjoyment of
learning. Learning is a blessing to some and it critically advances the mind to do bigger things
and work to advance the society. Gloom Co. will take taxes from the funds of military and take
more of taxes away from the military and put more into teachers salaries so they can make more.
Physiologically teachers dont make enough money so they do not put as much effort as they
could but with the right pay and qualifications as a teacher, the advancements of the students will
create a society that the students will work higher companies instead of make way jobs. This will
create more jobs because the more educated the students are, the more different ways they can
also solve for unemployment. The more stimulated the student is the better the job they will get
instead of replacing the elderly in make way jobs, leaving the elderly unemployed and harder to
get a job.
An elderly person will be replaced by a youth in a factory work because they are more
strong and capable of going faster which is why the elderly are stuck in unemployment. When
the better education is implemented the elderly will also struggle getting a job when they are
replaced. Retirement plans is a big part of an older person because when they are old they do not
learn as much or work as hard because they are weaker (Derber). The new reform to education
will be better for the elderly to retire because if they follow the norms of a nuclear family, the
children they have of their own will be smart and make money to provide when they retire.
Unemployment is a big issue in the current world but in the universe it has a much less
percentage because of Gloom Co. Although it costs more to provide fund for the labor working,
the future will be set up because of the educated scholars the new school system will create a
long with provide a clean area for the ingenious students to work around. Dirt builds up
everywhere in the world but the world will be a lot more clean and the resources will be more

active because of the earth taking healthy precautions. The green work will also reuse the
materials manufactured in order to reuse the already manufactured material. The youth will be
there to provide for their nuclear families and create more opportunities for work around the
technological business. Maintenance of machines is a must in order for the machine to function
correctly and the more machines made, the more education will be invested to perfect the
machine and make less energy wasted products. The elderlys retirement plan will not include
them in the unemployed because they are not looking for work but has settled after a life
dedication of work.
