Euthanasia
The composition of the eu and thanatos terms, which means "good death" or good
death, the word Euthanasia is born. Euthanasia is intended to cause death easy and
painless to a next patient to die; obtain death directly without cause pain or death
leaving this in a natural way by suppressing They are sustaining treatments the patient
alive.

Doctors are responsible for performing euthanasia, usually with the support of the family
of the patient in question. There are cases, however, where the patient is in a position to
choose on their own bodies and requests the application of euthanasia. This practice,
however, is banned in most countries. Euthanasia awakens all kinds of ethical debates.
Proponents say it avoids the suffering of the person who rejects the artificial
prolongation of life that leads to situations that are unworthy. Critics, however, believe
that nobody has the right to decide when to end the lives of others.

Currently euthanasia is permitted in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Australia, Ireland,

Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Germany, Albania , Belgium and Oregon State. The
alleged conditions for the practice of euthanasia are:

seriously ill patient

incurable disease
Enduring great physical pain
Medical treatment to painful
Discontinuation of cause
a long and painful agony.
adult and powers Patient
mentally affected
life and the legitimate claims of individual autonomy, respect for the law
to self-determination of life and death.
Meanwhile, medical ethics requires the physician to safeguard the life of
patients, so that the application of medical procedures is banned
euthanasia.
In medical practice are multiple conflicts, which are subsequently
aired in the courts, we highlight three cases.
The first case of attempted legalization of euthanasia we have to end
1938, when the grandmother of a blind and retarded child in the clinic

Leipzip University, he requested that Hitler would ensure death

compassion. Thereafter Hitler ordered to launch a program to
seek mercy killing in similar cases. The August 18, 1939,
ie less than a year later, the obligation to declare all were available
babies with physical defects. An estimated 5,000 were killed
children. From here it tried to systematically eliminate not only these children,
but all those supposedly lacking social value -suponan
a burden to the State- or genetic defects that could purify the race
aria by so-called T4 action. The number of mentally ill and the elderly
exterminated amounted to 80,000; that is, a true genocide eugenics
economic.

The issue of euthanasia is an issue that brings much controbercial both ethical, moral
and religious, there q respect the wishes of terminally ill patients within the legal
parameters

Several types of euthanasia:

Positive euthanasia cause death by surgical intervention, of

Ordinary administering a drug. It is one in which the agent directly

and positive acts on the sick person causing death.
Negative Euthanasia: the agent fails to do something that allows pursue life
patient. It consists of the omission of the ordinary means to sustain life
Sick
Solutiva euthanasia: autonomous or heteronomous behaviors that tend to alleviate
pain, by providing analgesic or anesthetic, not abbreviate the course
vital, providing the sick or elderly proper hygiene, nutrition
and warm, comforting him by the company, dialogue and silence, as
needs and personal assumption enabling him to die in a discreet
loneliness, when that was his will.
Active euthanasia: death is caused by an action, lethal injection supply
drug
Passive euthanasia by omission, by interrupting treatment required,
causing death.
Direct euthanasia: when the agent's intention there is the desire to provoke
in death of the patient.

Indirect euthanasia involves unwanted death in intent, which occurs

because of the side effects of palliative treatment of pain.
Voluntary euthanasia is at the request of the patient orally or in writing.
Involuntary euthanasia is applied to patients without their consent.
Proceeds by decision of the health worker or the family itself.
Euthanasia terminal: the cases of terminally ill, persistent vegetative state
and infants who are in similar situations. 100 Social Security Law
Palliative euthanasia: the death of sick and disabled to
fend for themselves for incurable and permanent condition, in such cases the
applied treatments aimed at alleviating pain, producing an overtaking
the time of death.

The euthanasia behaviors pose a problem in relation to the extension of human life to
unimaginable points. Therefore, the law should have an answer for it. Response should
be based on moral reflection.

Euthanasia is defined as "a death inducing pain in the interest of the recipient, which
means reducing the life of a terminally ill".

However, it is necessary to make certain clarifications: first, not necessarily have to be

in terminal situations, but in cases where a subject believes that life generates as much
evil as well. There is always a motive of benevolence to the recipient, has no legitimacy
to impose pain to a subject, and all have the right to stop suffering. In addition, the
terminalidad is a very broad and confusing notion. A situation could be terminal if the
physical autonomy of the subject is so depleted that it can not enjoy or exercise
minimum rights or basic skills. On the other hand, there are those who think that
terminalidad can be equated to irreversibility.

However, euthanasia is not murder, because it does not serve the interests of the
subject, and is characterized by a humanitarian reason; while euthanasia is intended to
reduce suffering in the context of a process that is ongoing. Neither euthanasia is
suicide, because it requires the participation of a third party

However, we see that the vast majority of States, euthanasia is still prohibited, which
seem to remain locked in this first conception of holiness of life. Yet, even though it
seems clear that not always the autonomy value is the most prevalent, we can not say
that the legal order, life is an absolute, non-negotiable, prima facie, and the clearest
example of this is self-defense.

In any case, it is problem that has a general solution, it is a moral dilemma, which
necessarily implies that any decision made or position is adopted, will result in the injury
of some value, whether the life or autonomy.
