andprotectionsfortheneuronsinthebrain.Theysurroundtheneuronsandholdthemin
place,supplynutrientsandoxygentotheneurons,theyinsulateoneneuronfromanother,and
destroypathogensandremovedeadneurons.Actionpotentialistheselfpropagated
transmissionofthedepolarizationwhilealongtheneuronmembrane.Itisashorteventin
whichtheelectricalmembranepotentialrisesandfallsfollowingconsistenttrajectory.When
peopleareinjuredtherecanbeaninterferenceinthecelltocellcommunication.Forexample,
aninjectionintotheshouldercanresultinaninabilitytoextendthewristandfingersbecause
theradialnervecouldpossiblybedamaged.Anotherexampleiswhenhealthcare
professionalsareadministeringglutealinjectiontheyavoidthelateralcutaneousnerveto
avoidpainandinjurybystrikingit.Inconclusion,thenervoussystemisoneofthemost
amazingsystemstostudy.Itisamazingwhatfunctionsitproducesandthereisnoway
humanscouldsurvivewithoutit.
