Ngantang Public Senior High School use teacher centered learning and the
students have not readiness to their learning. In reality, students can not to solve
the problems, to understand concept and physical formula, and than use it to solve
the problems. There is not interaction or try to use media. Students achievement
have not reached to the passing grade. It show that students metacognition
awareness, metacognition skill, learning achievement are low. Actually, teacher
has applied certain learning model but can't increase student achievement.
Therefore needs to be done by research in affecting to metacognition awareness,
metacogniton skill, and learning achievement. PBL combined with GI teaching
modelis a result.
Researchs purpose are to known students metacognition awareness,
metacognition skill, and learning achievement by using PBL-GI taching model
better than PBL teaching model and there is a correlation among metacognition
awareness and also meatcognition skill in learning achievement.
This research is quantitative research with quasy experiments type.
Researchs design is Pretest-Posttest Two Group Design.. Sampler is purposive's
sampling gotten by experiment class (XI IPA 2) by use of PBL GI teaching model
and control class (XI IPA 1) by use of PBL teaching model on fluid material.
Metacognition awareness is measured by metacognition awareness inventory
(MAI), metacognition skill is measured by answering the problems with
metacognition skill inventory (MSI), meanwhile physics learning achievement
measured by multiple choice test.
The reasearchs resultare metacognition awareness with PBL-GI teaching
model better than PBL teaching model. Metacognition skill with PBL-GI teaching
model better than PBL teaching model. Physics learning achievement with PBLGI teaching model better than PBL teaching model. There is correlation between
metacognition awareness, metacognition skill in physics learning achievement.
