Job Description
Computer engineers deal with the hardware and software capabilities of all computers,
desktop and laptop alike, and attempt to better them by making them smaller, faster, and more
efficient overall. They also work to enable computers to be mobile and analyze computer-related
problems. Computer science and electrical engineering concepts are used to allow for
integration of machines into other systems as well. However, not all computers can be fixed or
enhanced as sometimes the best solution is a new computer. Another aspect of computer
engineering requires engineers to improve the ability for computers to see and think.
Knowledge of a computers body and mind enables computer engineers to work at a
microscopic level and adjust how the computer functions. Computer engineers can choose to
work exclusively with software, hardware, or both. Overall, computer engineers focus on
pushing the boundaries and limitations of computers to make them more applicable in modern
society. only thing that would make this stronger is if you could give a couple of examples

Class Requirements
Computer engineering mainly desires?? classes dealing with mathematics and science.
More specifically, math classes required may include Calculus I,II & III, Statistics for Scientists
and Engineers, and sometimes Higher Mathematics for Scientists and Engineers. Science
classes one may be required to take are: Principles of Physics(for Engineers and Scientists) I &
II, and Chemistry Fundamentals I. Different colleges may require these classes, but generally, 1
course of Chemistry, 2 courses of Physics, 4 courses of Mathematics, 2 courses of Engineering,
and more specific classes are indefinitely?? required along with the respective amount of
hours?? This sentence doesnt make sense.. Each class is necessary to prepare a student for
certain concepts an aspiring computer engineer will need to know. Many courses that arent
required, but are preferred, also aid in understanding notions one may deal with in the future.
Future computer engineers should consider taking preferred courses to ensure the best
possibility of earning a job as additional courses taken would look good on rsums. Not to
mention possibly a higher paying position in the occupation not a complete sentence.

Salary By Location
The salary offered for a job in computer engineering is justified by the demand in certain areas.
In Austin, TX, a computer software engineer will make about $52,986 whereas one in Tampa
Bay, FL would make about $52,436. This is based off engineers with less than a year of
experience. Also, the cost of living in different cities factors into how much of that money can be
spent to still get by. Computer hardware engineers would more or less receive a similar income
as well. It would be best to locate a job listing in areas that are metropolis' like New York or Los
Angeles due to the high cost of essential features such as housing. Plus, it could be beneficial
to look for offerings overseas. Location is a key component when it comes to determining
income.
why is this centered?

Salary By Experience
The level of education is also what employers check to deduce which people would be better
suited for a position. In Austin, TX computer software engineers with a PhD(10-14 years of
experience) can make up to $101,816. The base salary offered increases cumulatively for the
years of experience one has. Although, the boost in pay isn't as great in certain places as
opposed to others. The extra years are worth it more often than not and catch the attention of
places that require an adequate engineer. It's imperative that those who are passionate about
computer engineering take advantage of higher level degrees in college. While a bachelor's
degree is decent, it may not be enough to be hired in well established workplaces. Experience is
what sets apart good computer engineers from outstanding ones.
