Ladies and gentlemen, Dear friends, VMRO-DPMNE is our member party and has the support of the EPP. Like with every EPP member party, the full respect of our common EPP values and principles, first and foremost democracy, the rule of law, working for a strong, independent judicial system and the fight against corruption are preeminent. The country is on a difficult path. Let us express, once again, our deep condolences to the families and friends of the people who have lost their lives only a week ago in the fight against terrorism. It is our common goal to see your country democratic, prosperous, stable and progressing towards the EU. We would like to see a country where political dialogue takes place in the Parliament, not on the streets. We would like to see a country where all elected representatives work in democratic institutions for the prosperity and interest of their citizens. This is the way democracy should work. VMRO-DPMNE and Prime Minister Gruevski won the last elections with a clear majority. You, and a vast majority of your compatriots, have put your expectations in the government and Prime Minister Gruevski. In this difficult time, when the opposition is spreading allegations against the government, we call for political dialogue. We expect competent institutions of the state to independently and impartially investigate and clarify these accusations on the basis of solid proof. We commend the Prime Ministers readiness to be part of the solution by overcoming the political crisis through dialogue and by cooperating with international partners in order to shed light on the events and bring political stability to the country. The EPP is ready to continue to play a supportive and constructive role in overcoming the political challenges in your country and support it on its way to the EU. For the sake of the future of your country within the European family, we call for refraining from cumulating tensions in society and violence, and we call for solutions that will not lead to the further destabilisation of the country. With this in mind, we would like to send our greetings to all of you who came to peacefully demonstrate your support for the government.
