Recently Mike Cooper from AT&T stopped by and gave SSCS a $5,000 donation, presenting them with a check. Cooper said Senator Dan Newberry was asked about where AT&T could make a difference with a donation after the tornado hit and Newberry told him to contact SSCS for information about helping those in need. Cooper made the call and showed up with $5,000. “It was a beautiful moment,” said SSCS board member Mary Ann McGinty. “It is such a blessing when a donor gets to meet someone they are directly involved in helping. Thank you, AT&T, Mike Cooper, and Senator Dan Newberry. We are so grateful for the continued support of our agency.”

After the March 25 tornado decimated parts of
Sand Springs the community responded by donating food, money and time to Sand Springs Community Services. Nearly two months later, donations are still pouring in. Recently Mike Cooper from AT&T stopped by and gave SSCS a $5,000 donation, presenting them with a check. Cooper said Senator Dan Newberry
was asked about where
AT&T could make a difference with a donation after the tornado hit and Newberry told him to contact SSCS for information about helping those in need. Cooper made the call and showed up with $5,000. It was a beautiful moment, said SSCS board member Mary Ann McGinty. It is such a blessing when a donor gets to meet someone they are directly involved in helping. Thank you, AT&T, Mike Cooper, and Senator Dan Newberry. We are so grateful for the continued sup-
port of our agency.
Sen. Newberry is no stranger to SSCS. Last month, he received a tour of the facility and ate lunch with a couple, who has benefitted from the agency. Newberry listened while they told him their story and he was moved. Due to the donations, which have exceeded $100,000, SSCS has been able to help the families affected by the tornado and a lot of the food and money is going out as quickly as it comes in.
