1. Calculate the energy shift and effective mass of hole created in state
|ki, Ek < EF in Fermi see by using Hartree-Foch approximation. By
performing summation over all hole renormalized energies up to kF calculate ground state energy shift of Fermi see. Corresponding Feynman
diagrams are shown in Fig.1.

2. Calculate second order Feynman diagram for electron-electron interaction shown in Fig.2. Calculate or estimate the contribution to electron
or hole energy shift in this process and compare it with energy shift in
first order (H-F) processes. Explain which kind of consequences this
kind of processes have to electron or hole spectral function.

3. Electron of incident energy Ek < 0 , where 0 is frequency of longitudinal optical (LO) phonons, enters in polar crystal, as is shown
by Feynman diagram in Fig.3. Calculate the renormalized energy of
incident electron
Ek = Ek + k (Ek )
because of its interaction with LO phonons. Electron-phonon interaction is given by

5. Calculate free response function 0 (Q, ) shown by feynman diagram

in Fig.4 for two dimensional electron gas in which one electron energy
dispersion is
a)EK = K,
b)EK =

where Q and K are twodimensional wave vector. In Random Phase Approximation (RPA) the Fourier transform of screened Coulomb propagator can be writen as
W (Q, ) =

where vQ = 2
is 2D Fourier transform of bare Coulomb interaction.
