1. Give a brief anecdotal description of these classroom elements: use of technology, lighting, traffic
patterns, instructional displays, management, and motivational elements:

The use of technology should be used everyday in the classroom whether it's together as a whole
class or individually in small groups. The lights should always be on unless the class is watching
a video or going over something on the Promethean Board. As management of the classroom, the
schedule for the weekly activities can be posted in front of the classroom including the days and
times.
2. What are some ways you observed that the physical arrangement of furniture enhanced or
supported a positive learning environment?

Physical arrangement of furniture can enhance a positive learning environment by allowing the
students to do more activities that require movement. Also if the classroom is organized the
students will be able to think opposed to be in a clustered classroom.
3. What are some ways you observed that the physical arrangement of the furniture detracted,
inhibited, or took away from a positive learning environment?

A clustered classroom would inhibit a positive learning environment because it would be too
tight and the students wouldn't be able to think clearly.
4. What are some ways you observed that the visual resourcesdecorations, bulletin boards, etc.
enhanced or supported a positive learning environment??

Decorations definitely support a positive learning environment because it provides a visual aid
for the students and adds color to the classroom.
5. What are some ways you observed that the visual resources detracted, inhibited, or took away from
a positive learning environment?

Too much visual posters isn't a good thing. It can distract from learning the material because they
can be drifting off to read the posters.
6. What are some ways you observed that the teacher physically moved around in, and otherwise
interacted with the physical space?*

The teacher moves around the classroom to make sure everybody is on task and not playing
around when they need to be doing their work.
7. What are some ways you observed that the students physically moved around in, and otherwise
interacted with the physical space?*

The students are always on the go. They like to move around. They can make any activity they
do into a physical one that is appropriate.

*HINT:

You may wish to focus your attention on the teacher for 15-20 minutes or so; or upon one student
for 15-20 minutes; or upon two students simultaneously in order to better answer questions 6 and
7.
