God has ability to do anything (Gen 18:14; Jer 32:17; Lk 18:27).
I. Gods power on display (major works of God)
A. Creation Jer 51:15. Minimum effort; maximum effects.
Job 26:12 by His understanding His power is directed to fulfill His
purposes.
B. Deliver Israel from Egypt Deut 9:29.
The NT miracles were not in judgment on an evil king and nation,
but in compassion for needy people.
C. Rule over the nation Ps 66:7; Prov. 21:1.
The captivity may have cemented this truth into their minds.
D. Salvation 1 Cor 1:18. His power makes a spiritual and eternal change
within us.
God uses His power to restrain Himself with regard to sinners: Nah
1:3; Num 14:17-18).
E. Resurrection Eph 1:19-20).
We may go to the grave, but the resurrection power of God means
we wont stay there.
II. Gods power in believers Is 40:30; Ps 29:11.
God is ready to release the exceeding greatness of His power toward us
who believe
A. Power in the inner man Eph 3:16.
B. Power for a life of godliness 2 Pet 1:3.
C. Power in our weaknesses 2 Cor 12:7-10.
D. Power for suffering 2 Tim 1:8.
E. Power to stand against Satan Eph 6:10-11.
Pity those who have a form of godliness but denying its power.
