Introduction
Some say that because scripture says that God is the only Savior and Jesus became the Savior, then Jesus must be God.
This analysis will show that conclusion to be incorrect.
Numerous other people in the bible were apointed by God to be saviors.
Jesus was appointed and brought from heaven by God to be a savior to the world.

Part 0 Definitions:
Old Testament Hebrew:
In the OT the Hebrew word "yasha" and a similar word "yesha" are the starting points for this examination, it always
means to save or be saved.
H3467/Yasha: OT ESV Word Count 205: save 101, saved 41, saves 12, savior 14, salvation 8, victory 5, help 5,
delivered 3, rescue 3, saving 3, deliver 2, deliverer 2, and other.
Strong's: to free, avenging, defend, deliver, help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring salvation, save, get victory.
One that saves from danger or destruction, one who brings salvation. Applies to men as well as to God, however God
was able to save entire nations or groups at any given times from their enemies.
H3468/Yesha: OT ESV Word Count 36: Salvation 32, safety 3, saving 1
Strong's: safety, salvation, saving
All instances are in reference to God.
New Testament Greek:
G4982/Sozo: ESV NT Word Count 106: Saved 56, save 34, well 10, made 5, healed 2 etc (some use two words)
Strong's: to save, deliver or protect, heal, preserve, save, do well, be whole
G4990 Soter: ESV NT Word Count 24: Savior 24
Strong's: a deliverer, ie God or Christ - Savior
G4991 Soteria: ESV NT Word Count 45: Salvation 39, saved 5, deliverance 1
Strong's: Rescue or safety, deliver, health, salvation, save, saving
Summary:
OT: It is interesting that the word "savior" is only translated fourteen times from "yasha" that is in the OT 205 times, it
is also noticeable that "save" is the main meaning of "yasha." I find it suprising that the word "savior" is not written
more often in the OT, and that it would only apply to God and not people. However that is not the case.

Part 1 Men Who Were Saviors

The Hebrew term for savior, yasha, was used numerous times in the OT referring to someone who rescued or saved
people, it was not a term reserved strictly for God. Ordinary people saved others from various circumstances and were
therefore their savers or saviors.
ESV Exodus 2:17 The shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up and saved
(H3467/Yasha) them, and watered their flock.
Hebrew word H3467/yasha which means savior. Moses was a "yasha," a savior in this instance.
NIRV Deuteronomy 22:27 The man found the woman out in the country. And she screamed. But there wasn't
anyone around who could save (H3467/yasha) her.
YLT Deuteronomy 22:27 for in a field he found her, she hath cried- the damsel who is betrothed - and she
hath no savior (H3467/yasha).
A person who could save the woman is a yasha/savior.
NASB Deuteronomy 28:29 you will not prosper in your ways, but you shall only be oppressed and robbed
continually, with none to save (H3467/yasha) you
YLT Deuteronomy 28:29 and thou dost not cause thy ways to prosper., and thou hast been only oppressed
and plundered all the days, and there is no savior (H3467/yasha).
There is no on to yasha/save them, there is no one who is their yasha/savior.
NASB Deut 28:31 your sheep shall be given to your enemies and you will have none to save (yasha) you
YLT Deut 28:31 thy sheep are given to thine enemies, and there is no savior (H3467/yasha) for thee
There is no one to save them, there is no yasha/savior for them
NIV Joshua 10:6 The Gibeonites then sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal: "Do not abandon your
servants. Come up to us quickly and save us (H3467/yasha)! Help us, because all the Amorite kings from
the hill country have joined forces against us."
Joshua went and helped the people and was a yasha/savior for them
Obadiah 20 The exiles of this host of the people of Israel shall possess the land of the Canaanites as far as
Zarephath, and the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad shall possess the cities of the Negeb.
21 Saviors (H3467/yasha mosea) shall go up to Mount Zion to rule Mount Esau, and the kingdom shall be
the LORDs.
People, as saviors, went up to rule the people
ESV Acts 7:24-25 And seeing one of them being wronged, Moses defended the oppressed man and
avenged him by striking down the Eqyptian. He supposed that his brothers would understand that God
giving them salvation (H4991/soteria) by his hand, but they did not understand.
God was giving the man salvation through Moses, Moses was being a savior to the Israelite man.
Summary:
Exodus 2:17
Deuteronomy 22:27
Deuteronomy 28:29
Deuteronomy 28:31

Moses saved the seven daughters from the shepherds, he was their savior
There was no one to save the woman, to be her savior
The people will not prosper, there is no one to save them to be their savior
The people will have none to save them, to be their savior

was

Joshua 10:6
Obadiah 21
Acts 7:24-25

Joshua and his men went and saved the people, he was their savior
People, as saviors, went up to rule the people
Moses was a savior to the Israelite man.

Various people were saviors or could have been saviors in the OT

The YLT, Youngs Living Translation, was published in 1862 and is not commonly used. I have quoted it here because
most other translations do not translate yasha into "savior" in this passage, but reword the sentence to say "save" or
similar.

Part 2 Men Who Were Saviors For God

Here are several examples of men who were saviors in the Old Testament, sent by God to be a savior on His behalf.
Judges 2:16 Then the LORD raised up judges, who saved (H3467/yasha) them out of the hands of these
raiders.
vs18 Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved (H3467/yasha) them
out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived.
Vs16 The judges were yasha/saviors, sent by God
Vs18 God yasha/saved them from the enemies, through the judges identified in vs16.
The judges were saviors, God was a savior.
ASV Judges 3:9 Jehovah raised up a savior (H3467/yasha) to the children of Israel, who saved them, even
Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother
Othniel was a savior/yasha raised up by God
ASV Judges 3:15 Jehovah raised them up a savior (H3467/Yasha), Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite
Ehud was a savior/yasha, raised up by God
ESV Judges 3:31 Shamgar, the son of Anath, who killed 600 of the Philistines with an oxgoad, and he also
saved (H3467/Yasha) Israel.
Shamgar saved/yasha Israel, he was a savior.
Judges 6:12-16 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, "The LORD is with
you,
O mighy man of valor."
vs14 and the LORD turned to him (Gideon) and said, "Go in this might of yours and save (H3467/yasha)
Israel from the hand of the Midian, do not I send you?
vs15 And he said to him, "Please, Lord, how can I save (H3467) Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in
Manasseh, and I am the least in my fathers's house.
vs16 And the LORD said to him, "But I will be with you, and you shall strike the midianites as one man."
Vs14 The LORD God sent Gideon to save Israel, be a savior, and then asked "do I not send you?"
Vs15 Gideon asks how can he save Israel, how can he be a H3467/yasha/savior
Vs16 The LORD God says Gideon can be a yasha/savior when God is with him.
Judges 6:36-37 Then Gideon said to God, "If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said,
behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry
on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save (H3467/yasha) Israel by my hand, as you have said.
The continuation of this passage confirms that the LORD God is the savior of people by using men as his instruments,
in this case Gideon. Also Judges 8:22

Judges 10:1 there arose to save (H3467/yasha) Israel Tola the son of Puah, son of Dodo
Tola was a savior
1 Samuel 9:15-16 Now the day before Saul came, The LORD had revealed to Samuel:
I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel.
He shall save (H3467/Yasha) my people from the hand of the Philistines.
The man from Benjamin was a yasha/savior sent by God
1 Samuel 23:2 And the LORD said to David, "Go and attack the Philistines and save (H3467/yasha)
Keilah." vs5 So David saved (H3467/yasha) the inhabitants of Keilah.
David became a yasha/savior for the people of Keilah
2 Samuel 3:18 for the LORD has promised David, saying, "By the hand of my servant David I will save
(H3467/yasha) my people Israel from the power of the Philistines"
The LORD God saves/yasha Israel through David
ESV 2 Kings 13:5 Therefore the LORD gave Israel a savior (H3467/yasha or moshea)
God sent a savior, possibly the King of Assyria who attacked the Syrians who had been attacking Israel.
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear
constructed an ark for the saving (G4991/soteria) of his household.
Noah was a savior for God
Conclusion:
Judges 2:16-18
Judges were saviors, raised up, sent by God. They were saviors for God and with God
Judges 3:9
Othniel was a savior raised up by God
Judges 3:15
Ehud was a savior, sent by God
Judges 3:31
Shamgar was also a savior
Judges 6:12-16, 36-37 Gideon was a savior by God's hand
Judges 10:1
Tola was a savior
1 Samuel 9:16
Benjamin's man was a savior, sent by God
1 Samuel 23:2
David was a savior for the people of Keilah
2 Samuel 3:18
The LORD God is the savior of Israel through David
2 Kings 13:5
God sent a savior to Israel, perhaps the Assyrians
Hebrews 11:7
Noah was a savior for God
Numerous judges, Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Gideon, Tola, the man from Benjamin, King David, the Assyrians, and
Noah were all H3467/Yasha/Saviors who were raised up, or sent by the LORD God to be saviors.

Part 3 OT God is the Savior:

Here I identify that the LORD God is the only savior in the OT.
2 Kings 14:27 But the LORD had not said that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, so
he saved (H3467/yasha) them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

The LORD saved/yasha Israel by the hand of Jeroboam, a clear passage showing that God is, or can be, the Savior
through men.
ESV 1 Chronicles 16:35 Say also "Save (H3467/yasha) us, O God of our Salvation (H3468/yesa); and gather
us and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in
your
praise."
The Israelites ask God to be their savior/yasha
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior (H3467/yasha.)
Without God, there is no savior, God is the savior
Apart could be: apart from, except, without, besides.
The list of saviors in Parts 2 were saviors because the LORD God was supporting their actions. Without the LORD
God they could not yasha/save. The OT men of God, are not apart from God, they are with God.
In this way, there is no Savior but the LORD God because it was the LORD God who raised them up. God is the one
responsible for providing the salvations in view in the quoted passages. Each of those Saviors are the LORD God's
Saviors and in that way there is no Savior besides the LORD God.
We must appreciate the context in which Isaiah 43:11 was spoken. Israel knew that God had raised up many saviors
for them to deliver them from this or that. So when they heard these words from Isaiah it was impossible for them to
conclude these words meant God saved by acting alone. They would necessarily interpret these words to mean there is
no Savior apart from their God Yahweh since He is the one who raises up saviors for them.
Isaiah 45:21-23 Declare what is to be, present it let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long
ago, who declared it from the distant past? Was it not I, the LORD ? And there is no God apart from me, a
righteous God and a savior (H3467/moshea); there is none but me.
22 "Turn to me and be saved (H3467/yasha), all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
Vs21 There is no God but the LORD God. There is no God and savior, but the LORD God.
Hosea 13:4 But I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God
but me, no Savior except me.
There is no God but the LORD God
There is no savior except the LORD God
Summary:
2 Kings 14:27
1 Chronicles 16:35
Isaiah 43:11
Isaiah 45:21
Hosea 13:4

The LORD was a savior of Israel by the hand of Jeroboam

save us o God of our salvation
I am the LORD, apart from me there is no savior
A righteous God and savior, there is none but me
You shall acknowledge no God but me, no savior except me.

There is no God but the LORD, there is no savior but the LORD God.
Despite the fact that God has said he is the only savior, we have already seen that he sent numerous other people to be
saviors on his behalf in the OT. God is the savior and he saves through, and by using, people such as Jeroboam in 2
Kings 14, Noah, and all those mentioned in Part 2.

Part 4 NT God is the Savior

God continues to be the savior in the NT
Luke 1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my savior.

Mary has visited Elizabeth when they were both pregnant, and Mary makes this statement
1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our
hope,
Paul is an apostle because God commanded it.
God our savior, as in the OT God is behind all salvation
And Christ our hope.
We hope Christ will intercede for us, to help save us, when the wrath of God comes.
1 Timothy 2:3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4
who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
God our savior
God wants all people to come to a knowledge of the truth
1 Timothy 4:10 that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially
of those who believe.
God is the savior of all men.
Jude 1:25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory , majesty, dominion
To the only God our savior. Just as in the OT, God is a savior through another being who in this case is Jesus.
Summary:
Luke 1:47
1 Timothy 1:1
1 Timothy 2:3
1 Timothy 4:10
Jude 1:25

Mary says God is her savior

God our savior and Jesus our hope
God our savior
God is the savior of all men
the only God our savior who works through Jesus Christ.

God is the Savior of all men NT

Part 5 Jesus is the savior:

Jesus is the savior. These NT scriptures are arranged in a specific order which will become clear in the summary.
Mathew 1:21 and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save (G4982/Sozo) his people from their sins.
The angel is giving instruction to Joseph in a dream.
Jesus, Yahshua, Yeshua or Yashua are the same name and mean in Hebrew, "salvation. An additional meaning that the
people of old attached to it was God Saves, or YHWH saves.
In the Hebrew Jesus' name is virtually save/saves/saved/savior/salvation .
Luke 2:11 unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior (G4990/Soter), who is Christ the Lord
The angel speaking to the shepherds tells them the savior is born, who is Jesus the Messiah or anointed one.
2 Timothy 1:8-10 But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God,
9
who has saved (G4982/Sozo) us and called us to a holy lifenot because of anything we have done but
because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
10
but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior (G4990/Soter), Christ Jesus, who has
destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel

Vs8 Paul suffered by the power of God.

Vs9 God saved us and called us to a holy life. Because of Gods purpose and grace.
Vs9 God gave us the grace in Christ Jesus, before time began. There are a few ways this can be understood. My belief
is that God and Jesus, who both existed before time, determined his coming to earth for our sakes. I do not believe that
my own soul, or spirit, was pre existant.
Vs10 Jesus is our savior.
Luke 2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and
devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the
Lords Christ.
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him
according to the custom of the Law,
28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,
29 Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word;
30 for my eyes have seen your salvation
Vs28 Simeon is holding Jesus and praying to God.
Vs29 Simeon says to God
Vs30 My eyes have seen your salvation. Simeon says that Jesus is the Salvation from God, God's salvation. God
raised up OT saviors, now he is raising a savior in the NT.
Luke 3:6 says all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
Acts 2:28 says this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles.
John 4:42 for we know that this is indeed the Savior (G4990/Soter) of the world.
The story of the woman at the well and the Samaritans who made the statement that Jesus is the world's savior.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of
which he is the Savior (G4990/Soter).
Jesus is the savior of the Church
Jesus is the head of the Church his body.
God is not the head, he is the creator of everything, He is the creator of the head!
NIV John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved (G4982/sozo). He will come in and
go out, and find pasture.
We enter through Jesus to be saved
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation (G4991/soteria) in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given
among men by which we must be saved (G4982/sozo).
The only way to heaven is through Jesus our savior
Romans 5:8-9 while we were still sinners, Christ died for us
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved (G4982/sozo) from
wrath through him!
We will be saved from Gods wrath through Jesus.
How can Jesus be God and we be saved in this way?
It seems strange that God is still the savior!

God's

Hebrews 7:25 Consequently, he is able to save (G4982/sozo) to the uttermost those who draw near to God
through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
Jesus is the savior because he makes intercession for the people
2 Peter 1:11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior
(G4990/Soter) Jesus Christ.
Jesus our savior on Judgment Day
Summary:
I have arranged the scriptures in this order to show in order 1/ Jesus name definition, 2/ his birth as savior, 3/ it is for
everyone, 4/ we are saved "through" Jesus, 5/ Jesus is currently our savior, 6/ he will be our savior on the Day of
Judgment.
Mathew 1:21
Name
In Hebrew, Jesus' name is virtually save/saves/saved/savior/salvation
Luke 2:11
Birth
A savior is born who is Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one.
2 Timothy 1:9-10
Birth
The appearing of our savior, Christ Jesus.
Luke 2:35
Birth
Simeon sees the salvation of God, who is Jesus.
John 4:42
Everyone
The Samaritans recognize Jesus as the world's savior.
Ephesians 5:23
Everyone
Christ is the savior of the Church
John 10:9
Through
We enter through Jesus to be saved
Acts 4:12
Through
The only way to heaven is through Jesus our savior
Romans 5:8-9
Through
We will be saved from Gods wrath through Jesus.
Hebrews 7:25
Currently
Jesus is our savior by his intercession
2 Peter 1:11
End Times
Jesus Christ our Savior on Judgment Day
Also 2 Peter 2:20, 3:2, 3:18
Jesus' name is virtually identical to the Hebrew word for save/savior/salvation. He was born the savior, it is for
everyone, we are saved through him, he intercedes for us now, and will at the end of times.

Part 6 NT God Made Jesus The Savior

Some find it confusing that God is the savior and Jesus is the savior however, this is nothing new as God worked in the
same way throughout the Old Testament with the people of those times. God then made, sent, and brought His son
Jesus to be the savior in the NT.
Isaiah 19:20 It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out
to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior (H3467)and defender, and he will rescue
them.
This prophetic passage from Isaiah shows that God will send a savior, this does not mean God is not the overall savior,
or the savior here is God. The savior he would be sending would be another, an agent, to work on His behalf as in the
OT. This may, or may not, have had OT fulfillment however as was the case with several OT prophesies, many of
them had both "near" and "far" fulfillment.
Acts 13:23 From this man's descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior (G4990/Soter) Jesus, as he
promised.
God brought, or sent, Jesus to be a savior on His behalf.
It says "as he promised" therefore I am assuming the promise was in the OT and was likely Isaiah 19:20.
1 John 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior (G4990/Soter)
of the world.

God sent Jesus, His son, to be the savior.

Acts 5:30-31 The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead whom you had killed by hanging him on a
tree. 31God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior (G4990/Soter) that he might give
repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel
God exalted Jesus as Prince and Savior.
God puts Jesus in place to give repentance and forgive sins to Israel, the people of God.
Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a savior (G4990/Soter) from there,
the Lord Jesus Christ, 21who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will
transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body
Vs20 Jesus the savior.
Vs21 A power enables Jesus to bring everything under his control. The power is not his own, it is from God.
Vs21 Jesus will transform our bodies to be like his. Just as he was given a heavenly body at his ascension to heaven
so will we when we rise on the Day of Judgment.
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect , he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him
Jesus is the source of eternal salvation because God made him perfect and made him the source, the savior
Summary:
Isaiah 19:20
Acts 13:23
1 John 4:14
Acts 5:31
Phil 3:20-21
Hebrews 5:9

Prophecy
Fulfillment
Post confirmation
God exalted Jesus as savior
The second coming
What this all means

God will send a savior

God brought Jesus the savior
God had sent Jesus as savior
God now has the savior, Jesus Christ, at his right hand
God will enable Jesus with power to return as our savior
God made Jesus perfect and made him the source, the savior

The scriptures shown here are in a very specific order which identifies the process. First we have the prophecy, then
the fulfillment, post confirmation, exaltation, to the second coming of how God would implement the salvation of the
world through his Son, Jesus Christ.

This is explained in John 3:17: "Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through him." - NRSV.
God is the source of salvation, Jesus was the instrument.

Part 7: God the Savior and Jesus the Savior

God and Jesus are both Saviors
Titus 1:3- 4 and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been
entrusted by the command of God our savior (G4990/Soter).
To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior
(G4990/Soter).
God the Savior and Christ the Savior.
ESV Titus 2:10-13 showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our
savior. 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people.
12 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

God our Savior and the Savior Jesus Christ

In the NIV and several other translations they have vs13 reading that Jesus is God. See my in depth study on this
verse showing that to be a translation variance.
Titus 3:4-6 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior (G4990/soter) appeared,
5
he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through
the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
6
whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior (G4990/soter),
God was kind through Jesus. God our savior, Christ our savior.
God saved us through, rebirth, the HS, through Christ our Savior.
Revelation 7:10 and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne,
and to the lamb
Salvation from God on the throne AND Jesus, both of them.
Summary:
Titus 1:3-4
God our savior and Christ our savior
Titus 2:10-13 God our savior and our savior Jesus Christ
Titus 3:4-6
God our savior through Jesus Christ our savior
Revelation 7:10 Salvation from God on the throne AND Jesus.
God the Savior and Christ the Savior.

Part 8 Jesus Has A Savior

Mark 14:36 Abba Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but
what you will.
Luke 22:42 Father if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be
done.
John 12:27 Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save (H4982/sozo) me from this hour?
But for this purpose I have come to this hour.
Jesus wonders if he should ask God to save him, but decides against it.
What if Jesus asked, and God did save him from that hour?
Because God could have save him, or as he did he refused, Jesus cannot be God. Jesus was fully reliant on another
Hebrews 5:7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears,
to him who was able to save (G4982/sozo) him from death, he was heard because of his reverence.
Jesus prayed to God to be saved from death, this is not something he would do if he were God.
What if Jesus wasnt reverent? What if God didnt save him?
Jesus, like the OT men of God, ultimately relied/s on the LORD God for his own salvation
Summary
Mark 14:36
Luke 22:42
John 12:27
Hebrews 5:7

Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.
Father if you are willing, remove this cup from me.
Father, save (H4982/sozo) me from this hour?
with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save (G4982/sozo) him from death

There are four NT passages showing that Jesus had a Savior, in which case he was not God who doesn't.

Part 9 People Bring Salvation

People in the NT, as in the OT, bring salvation to the people
Acts 13:47 I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.
Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly saying that they bring salvation to the world
Acts 16:17 These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.
The slave girl recognized that Paul and Silas were proclaiming the way to salvation.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who
believes, first the Jew and then the Greek.
The gospel that Paul brings is the power of God for salvation. Also Ephesians 1:13
2 Corinthians 6:2 For he says "in a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have
helped you." Behold, now is the favorable time, behold, now is the day of salvation.
Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8
Paul, by delivering the message of Christ has become the savior of the people who responded.

Part 10: 2 Peter 1:1

Some understand 2 Peter 1:1 to say our God and savior is Jesus Christ. This is understandable as some of the
translations write it this way, however others do not.
As revealed here and in the rest of the section 37C, regarding God sending our Savior on his behalf, Jesus is not God.
Because of this 2 Peter1:1 has to be translated and understood in the same way.
The same applies to some of the translations of 2 Peter 1:11, 2 Peter 2:20. 3:2 and 3:18
For an in depth study on these passages go to xxxx linked here September 2015
Summaries and Conclusion
Part 0 Definitions: OT: It is interesting that the word "savior" is only translated 14 times from "yasha" that is in
the OT 205 times, it is also noticeable that "save" is the main meaning of "yasha." I also would have
thought the word "savior" would be written more often in the OT, and that it would only apply to God and
not people however that is not the case.

Part 1 OT Various people were saviors or could have been saviors

Part 2 Numerous judges, Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Gideon, Tola, the man from Benjamin, King David, Assyrians,
and Noah were all H3467/Yasha/Saviors who were raised up, or sent by the LORD God to be saviors.
Part 3 OT There is no God but the LORD, there is no savior but the LORD God.
Despite the fact that God has said he is the only savior, we have already seen that he sent numerous other
people to be saviors on his behalf in the OT. God is the savior and he saves through, and by using, people
such as Jeroboam in 2 Kings 14, Noah, and all those mentioned in Part 2.
Part 4 God is the Savior of all men NT
Part 5 Jesus' name is virtually identical to the Hebrew word for save/savior/salvation. He was born the savior, it is
for everyone, we are saved through him, he intercedes for us now and wil at the end of times.
Part 6 The process is shown here including the prophecy, fulfillment, post confirmation, exaltation, to the second
coming of how God would implement the salvation of the world through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Part 7 God the Savior and Christ the Savior.
Part 8 There are four NT passages showing that Jesus had a Savior, in which case he was not God who doesn't.
Part 9 Paul, Barnabas, Silas and now us as disciples bring salvation to people by spreading the gospel.
We, like the men of God in the OT, are saviors.
Part 10 When looking at how 2 Peter 1:1 is translated the majority of translations write the passage in a neutral
way, meaning that it can be read that Jesus is God or he is not God. Therefore we have to look elsewhere
for support to determine how to understand this passage. As revealed in the rest of the section regarding
God sending our Savior on his behalf, Jesus is not God.
Final Conclusion:
As we can see in the OT Definitions Yasha was translated into Savior only 14 times out of 205 occurences this was
a decision made by the translators. Some have taken the word savior to be a specific name only applicable to God
which is not the truth. God is our Savior, but Moses and David were also saviors of people along with an array of
people in the OT. Savior is a word that applies to someone who rescues or saves another. God has rescued us from his
own wrath through the life and death of Jesus. We are saved by Jesus Christ defending, interceding, and mediating on
our behalf, Jesus is our savior!
God is our savior and Jesus is our savior, this is true because God works as the savior through Jesus. Without either of
them there would be no eternal life.
Nothing about the word Savior applying to Jesus makes him God, in fact as Part 8 shows Jesus also has a Savior in
which case he clearly is not God who certainly doesnt have or need a Savior.
