Bell's Palsi
Bell's Palsi
tanpa adanya penyakit neurologik lain. Insidensi sindrom ini sekitar 23 kasus per 100 000
orang setiap tahun.
J Indon Med Assoc.

Abstract: Bells palsy is a syndrome of facial weakness with lower motor neuron sign caused by
idiopathic facial nerve involvement outside the central nervous system, without any other neurological diseases. The incidence of this syndrome is around 23 cases in 100.000 people each year.
Various theories try to explain the existing abnormality, one of which involves Herpes Simplex
Virus type I. Controversies in the management are still on debate, although most of the cases
(85%) completely resolve in 1-2 months and recurrence was found in 8% of cases. Doctors in
primary health care are expected to be able to make a prompt diagnosis and treatment for Bells
palsy. J Indon Med Assoc. 2012:62;32-7
