New Skills for Word
The skill that I chose for Microsoft Word is mail merging. I have had no prior
experience with using mail merging before so this is a totally new idea to me. Mail
merging is supposed to individualize who the recipient of the letter is but keep the
content of the letter the same.
The arrows with GreetingLine in between them represent the names for each
students parent. When these letters print or are emailed off the names
automatically appear.

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am excited to let you know that I am your child's History teacher for
this school year. With this being my first year teaching, I cannot wait to get
this year started. I am writing you to introduce myself and hopefully begin a
cooperative relationship throughout this school year.
First, I am a graduate of Longview High School and a graduate of East
Texas Baptist University with a degree in Secondary Education majoring in
English and minoring in History. I was a part of both the English and History
Honor Societies during my tenure at ETBU.
This year will be a great year for your child. I intend on not only
preparing your student for the state exam that they need to pass for high
school graduation, but preparing them for what college is like. With my
background and knowledge of English, I will show how writing will be an
asset for their learning, not only for high school, but for college as well.
