1. ISTE Standards Students: (2) Communication and collaboration

The ISTE Standards for Students proposes that its second standard be focused on
communication and collaboration, in which students are encouraged to use
digital media and environments, as a way to work and communicate
collaboratively, to support individual learning, and to contribute to the learning of
others. This standard can be achieved at a distance, as well. The resource,
https://basecamp.com would be an acceptable online program to fulfill this
standards requirements. This site allows team projects to be conducted online;
where individuals can publish new ideas and information, or contribute these
ideas to already published information. These posts allow for communication and
debate amongst everyone involved, no matter where they are located. Once
projects have been completed, the final product can be shared wherever the team
chooses.
2. ISTE Standards Teacher: (3) Model digital age work and learning
The third ISTE standard for teachers encourages educators to model digital age
work and learning in the classroom. In order to fulfill this standard, teachers
must learn to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and work processes, which reflect
innovation in a global and digital society. The site,

BDE36CC1C, is a valid resource that allows an educator to create a Track, a
selection of websites, which provide online activities and lessons specific to a
given content area. The teacher can share their Track with colleagues, the
community, and their students, as a way to promote research and learning.
3. ISTE Standards Students: (3) Research and information fluency
The third standard for students, promotes research and information fluency, in
which students are encouraged to apply digital tools for gathering, evaluating, and

using information. This standard focuses on the student using the following
skills: developing strategies to guide investigation; locating, organizing,
analyzing, evaluating, synthesizing, and ethically, using online information and
media; evaluating and selecting proper online information and tools required for
certain tasks; and, processing the results of data and reports. A useful program for
this standard is http://www.scrible.com and http://www.scrible.com/student. This
resource allows students to locate and highlight information. This collected
information allows the student to create citations quickly, organize collected
information into summarized reports, store collected materials, and collaborate
with others.
