Curriculum and Instruction

What is this course all about?


This course is divided into two major areas i.e.
Curriculum and Instruction.
The first area provides an overview of the
principles, procedures, practices in CD and
syllabus design. Focus - development,
implementation, evaluation of the curriculum and
syllabus in the different areas of specialization.
The second area focuses on instruction and
instructional materials. Principles, methods,
and techniques in classroom instruction and
instructional materials development are discussed.

What can you expect to gain from this


course?
At the end of the course, students should be able
to:
I. Describe the principles and procedures in
curriculum and syllabus design,
II. Design curriculum and syllabus for a specific
groups of learners,
III. Describe the school curriculum and syllabus,
IV. Discuss approaches, methods, and techniques
in classroom instruction,
V. Prepare lesson plan for classroom instruction,
VI. Design, utilize and evaluate instructional
materials for use in teaching.

Dress code (MUST DO)
- Formal attire as a school teacher for AR
presentation and microteaching
Girls - baju kurung any kind will do, say NO to
blouse or Jubah, put on very light make up, covered
shoes with heel (any colour), name tag
Boys - formal shirts, slack or khakis, leather shoes,
neck tie, short hair, name tag
* All students must abide to the dress code to
avoid severe punishment

Textbook/Reference book (MUST HAVE)


- Science lower/upper secondary, Bio/Physics form 4
and form 5
- Curriculum specifications for Science Form 1 - 5
A course file (MUST HAVE)
- With proper label and standardized for everyone
A set of marker pen (MUST HAVE)
- Compulsory to have black, blue, red, green, purple
and orange (everyone should have their own set)
- To bring during EDU555 class for writing test

Rules of The Class (3 Rs)


I. Respects respects the instructor, the colleagues
during the discussion and sharing session, the use of
right intonation, way of delivering ideas and opinions
II. Relax feel less pressure as this class only an avenue
for you to improve and learn
III. Respond respond to the questions asked, dont
afraid to voice out opinions and views on the matter
discuss
. Punctuality and attendance to class should be given
extra attention
. Students who did not ask any questions/voice out
opinions will be fined RM 0.50 at the end of the class
(pay to the class treasurer)
