Based on the novel,The Prisoner of Zenda, the event that changes the life of Rudolf
is after Rudolf meets with the King, Fritz and Sapt in the forest.
Based on the novel,The Prisoner of Zenda, the important event is after Rudolf
meets with the King, Fritz and Sapt in the forest.
Before he meets them, according to his sister-in-law, Rose, Rudolf is jobless, lazy
and has wasted his life. After this event, he becomes a better person.
Firstly, Rudolf becomes a brave person. It is proven when he is brave enough to
impersonate the king even though he knows that it is dangerous/risky/wrong to do so.
He is also brave enough to save the king alone/single-handedly. It is further
proven/shown when Fritz calls him the bravest man on earth.
Secondly, he also has strong determination to face challenges. It is proven when
he is determined to fight with Duke Michaels men, The Famous Six, the most feared by
Ruritanians for their fighting skills. He is also determined to chase Rupert into the
forest even though he is badly injured and yet he still manages to cut Ruperts face. It is
further proven/shown when he is determined to show to the Ruritanians that their King is
no coward and he trusts them by ordering the guards to ride on fifty yards ahead so that
he can ride alone.
Lastly, he is also an honourable person. It is proven when he is in position, he does
not misuse his power as a King. When he is in position, he also does not take advantage
of Princess Flavia. It is further proven when he does not accept the bribe from Duke
Michael to leave Ruritania. Not only that, he also sacrifices his love to let Princess
Flavia marry the rightful King. He puts honour before love.
Therefore, it is clearly shown that this event changes his life from a commoner to a
king. Apart from that, he also changes from someone who is good for nothing to
someone who is good for something. This event is really a life-changing moment for
him..
Therefore, it is clearly shown that this event is an important event because it
changes his from a commoner to a king. Apart from that, he also changes from someone

life-changing moment for him. So, this event is definitely an important/ a happy event.
