QUESTIONS
1. How does the sum of V1, V2, V3, and V4 (step 2) in Table 2 compare with V? Explain the
difference, if any.
*The sum of the voltages V1 V4 is the same with the applied voltage
2. How does the sum of V1, V2,..., and V5 (step 4) in Table 2 compare with V? Explain the
difference, if any.
*The sum of the voltages V1 V5 is the same with the applied voltage
3. In your own words state Kirchhoffs voltage law. Also write the equation for it.
*The said law states that the sum of all the voltages within the circuit is equal to
zero.
4. Discuss the result of the design, step 6.
*The design we made was almost equal to the required current of 5 mA.
5. What made it possible for you to design a circuit, as required, which would give you
exactly
5 mA of current?
*Trial and error to get the correct resistors needed.
ANALYSIS
The experiments objective which is to determine the relationship between the sum of the
voltage drops across the resistors and the voltage applied was met. By Kirchhoffs Voltage Law,
the sum of all the voltage across the circuit was equal to zero. Throughout the duration of the
experiment, we were able to verify that the sum of all the voltage drops across the circuit is equal
to zero. There was no difficulty met while doing the experiment until we get to design a circuit
which gives 5 mA of current with a voltage source of 35 V. We were required to design the
circuit with the given resistors. By trial and error, we were able to get the required combination
of resistors that will give about 5 mA of current. Relating it with the objective of the whole
experiment, we verified that the voltage drops across the circuit is equal to zero. Thus the
experiment was a success.
