• Commercial policy of India is also known as the
foreign trade policy of India
• To double our percentage share of global merchandise
trade within the next five years
• To act as an effective instrument of economic growth
by giving a thrust to employment Generation
• Means to economic growth and national
development.

• Period after 1991 has been marked by a substantial
liberalization of the trade policy.

RECOMMENDATIONS
• More and more establishment of SEZ.
• No license required for imports
• Full freedom for subcontracting
• Labour laws can be relaxed resulting in more and
more establishment of industries
• Promotion of investment from domestic and
foreign resources
• Convenient trade practices
• Establishment of infrastructure
