On behalf of the organising committee, we are pleased to welcome all of you to our school
who is responsible for this year competition. This is the least we can do within the short
period of time. Please bear in mind; we hope that all the contestants can compete in a
healthy manner. Try your level of best to deliver your speech convincingly and full of
confident. Without wasting any of time, I would like to ask for permission to start on the
program.

Let me read to you the competition rules:

The competition is divided into two sections, as follows:
Section 1 Prepared speech
Section 2 impromptu speech
For section 1 (Prepared speech) , contestants are to observe the following rules
The contestants should deliver a prepared speech on a topic of their choice for 4 to 6
minutes.
A warning bell will be sounded at the 5th minute and a final bell at the 6th minute. Marks
will be deducted thereafter.
For section 2 (impromptu speech), contestants are to observe the following rules:
The Contestants are given a topic 4 minutes before they are due to present the speech.
All contestants speak on the same topic.
The time allocated for the impromptu speech is 3 minutes
A warning bell will be sounded at the 2nd minute and a final bell at the 3rd minute. Marks
will be deducted thereafter.

The judging criteria for both speeches are on two aspects which are subject matter and the
use of the language. The important things are to make sure that you know your direction
and set a focus for your speech.
Now, we shall start the competition with the first round which is prepared speech.
*I would like to remind all the contestants to finish their speeches within the time given
which is 4 to 6 minutes. Under the competition rules, marks will be deducted after 6
minutes.

public speaking competition for primary schools.
But before we announce the results, we would like to acknowledge the importance of the
judges who came by and adjudicate with wisdom to pick the winners for todays
competition. Therefore, the organizing committees would like to give away souvenirs as our
