This feature of presentation of papers has become a tradition since Jong which provides a platform for budding engineers to discuss around a central theme. The central theme for this year's Technicians'/Students’ Seminar is as follows Innovative Indigenous Technology Pathways for uccessful Accomplishment of National Programme ‘Make in India’ In today's competitive and increasingly saturated global markels, rapid technological breakthroughs have left all the old Weapons of achieving any differentiationfedge towards economic growth inadequate. It isin this context a new and ambitious national programme Make in India has been launched, The objective of ths initiative is to attract and facilitate flow of foreign investment and know-how (0 India to achieve increase in industrial output, GDP growin, job creation, ete. India is not merely acting as a favoured workplace, but is an equally important place to foster innovation, create intellectual property and be a resource for modem infrastructure. In this context, its imperative for india to be self-reliant by having strang technological base in critical technologies and developing indigenous innovative technologies that are crucial for a developing nation in order to achieve cumulative growtn, both economically and socially. The innovations in the form of appropriate ‘modifications in the existing technologies, development of new technologies, design interventions, ele can help bring in the much needed change. Indigenous innovation, by its very definition, is the one that is evolved locally, utilizing knowledge and indigenous materials, skils and tesources to provide technical/engineering solutions to the problems faced by the country. (One finds amazing innovations in India that can be developed into marketable products and thereby help in creating business success. These could provide vital directions for a country, ike India, to transform into an innovation-driven economy to deal with typical global as well as focal requirements. Number of steps can be taken for promotion of indigenous technologies. For this, itis essential for all stakeholders, including industry, academia, research institutions, etc. to come together coupled with the integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT), \With this in focus, papers are invited from students of polytechnics and engineering colleges for presentation in the All India Technicians’/Students’ Seminar to be held on Oct 10, 2015. The paper shall be on innovative ideas, design, prototype and technology development, case studies, survey detalls augmenting innovations, etc. pertaining to the theme Innovative Indigenous Technology Pathways for Successful Accomplishment of National Programme ‘Make in India’ ‘Sub Themes : Following areas as sub-themes to be discussed threadbare in the Technicians'/Students!
