Nyingthig, translated by John Myrdhin Reynolds. This document is intended for people who received this
transmission or wish to receive it in the future.
Editors take no credit for transcribing the Tibetan text nor the translation.

Here is contained "The Rainfall of Blessings" which is a prayer to Simhamukha from "The Secret
Sadhana of the Consort".
ch ku kn tu zang mo la sl wa dep
We pray to the Dharmakaya Samantabhadri:
tok tsok rang sar drl w po drang n
From the palace where the hosts of thoughts are liberated into their own condition,
trin l mu ta m p po drang n
From the palace of unlimited activity,

"From the realm of the spontaneously perfected fivefold certainty,
We pray to Jigmed Trinlay Odzer:
Grant us the blessing to understand the primal awareness with respect to the body.
From the vajra-like palace of the Rainbow Body of the Four Visions,
We pray to Ngadak Yeshe Gyatso:
Grant us the blessing to understand what transcends the intellect and is free of conceptual elaborations.
From the immeasurable celestial palace of the indestructible Sphere, in the centre of our hearts,
We pray to our benevolent Root Guru:
Grant us the blessing to understand here the Great Unification."
These are verses of homage to the lineage holders of Longchen Nyingthig after Jigme Lingpa and they
will be added by the Lama conferring the empowerment, depending on his own lineage.
Here is contained 'The Secret Sadhana of the Consort who possesses the Face of the Lion', from the
Longchen Nyingthig.
This teaching was bestowed by the Dakinis of Space upon that great individual Padmasambhava, in the cremation grounds of the
liberated eight aggregates, from the middle of the vast expanse of the sounds of the Dharmata, the lights of the Dharmata, and the
rays of the Dharmata. In a mandala of sindhura (the practitioner should draw) the interlaced triangles of the Dharmodaya and
the lotus circle, surrounded by volcanos and the rock walls of the cremation grounds.There is a crystal placed at its center and
this is surrounded by the mirror.The inner offerings consisting of the consecrated sacred substances should be well prepared.

HO To Samantabhadra , the Lord and His Consort , having all mental phenomena completely purified,
hum gek zh ja ang duk ngel den pa t
HUM Even though these obstacles which represent the Truth of Suffering
lo bur nam tok kn jung ma rik don
They do not even touch the Tathagatagarbha which is without any inherent nature.
hum sem l sem jung ch nyi kyewa m
HUM Even though thoughts originate from the mind, the Dharmata itself is uncreated.
ch chen kn dzop den pa ta dak kun
All phenomena belonging to Relative Truth
nyer ch kn tu zang p trin du gyur
And as upacharas, they become a great cloud of offerings.

(They are consecrated with the mantras for medicine, rakta, and bali respectively.)
(Fifth, as for the meditation of the Devayoga which is in conformity with the process of purification:)

Her body color is dark azure because of the unchanging Dharmata.

On the six spokes (of a wheel) beginning in front of Her and moving to the right

She who has the dark green head of the peacock represents inactivity of the sense of taste,
ging lang wang chuk ten m tsok kyi kor
Who are in turn surrounded by vast hosts of Ging and Lanka spirits, Wangchugmas, and Tanmas.

HUM In this great space just as it is free of any elaborations,

HUM Even though from the very beginning the Wisdom Being and the Symbolic exist as non-dual
primordial awareness,

HUM From the state of the uncreated Dharmakaya arises its unobstructed creative potency

9. PUJA OFFERING
ho zuk nang lhar dzok ch p chak gya che
As for sight, these great symbols of the puja are perfected into visible deities.
As for smell, these aromatic fragrances are the perfumed garden of morality.

HUM She who has the nature of Bliss and possesses a beautiful form in all its varied aspects
Fixating one's mind on the principal deity is the seva practice, having completely perfected the principal deity and its retinue is
the upaseva practice, exerting oneself in reciting the mantra is the sadhana practice, and the emanating and the reabsorbing of
the rays of light is the mahasadhana practice.)

At the left ear is the region of Godavari,

And at the shoulders is Malava,

These delightful sensual qualities and entertainments we offer as a Ganachakra feast.
nu ma nyi ni o ti te
At the two nipples is Odra,
na yi ts mo ko sa la
At the tip of the nose is Kosala,
hi ma la yi drong khyer na
And the city of Himalaya.
chang l zar bu ta la la
Tassels of their braided hair hanging-- ta-la-la!
t wong ma ro la rash ta
At the thumbs and big toes are Maru and Saurashtra,
p mo ku lan ta dang ni
At the knees is Kutala,
chang l zar bu ta la la
Tassels of their braided hair hanging-- ta-la-la!

Singing vajra songs, playing and dancing!
3. PROPITIATION RITE
(If one is performing a combined Ganachakra and propitiation rite, then recite as follows: )
ho y sh khandr lha tsok gong su sol
HO O divine hosts of Jnana Dakinis, please heed us!
l lo nyi kyi wang du gyur pa yi
sem chen n ma top pa tl lo shag
We confess to and atone for not having the strength to set sentient beings (on the path to liberation)
Due to succumbing to the influence of too little compassion at the time of liberation.
(By confessing sincerely from the depths of one's heart, all transgressions of one's samaya vows will be repaired. )
4. REMAINDER OFFERING
(Then as for the presentation of the remainder offering with the mouth-rinsing water: )

PHEM With respect to this remainder offering, you obedient tutelary deities of power:
(Reciting this, take the remainder offering outside of the assembly hall.)
hum zheng shik khandro d p lha
HUM Rise up, O Dakinis, Ye Goddesses who gather here,
jang chup drup p bar ch tul
Subdue all obstacles to the realization of enlightenment
n ch jungw g pa sol
And banish all troubles which arise in this world to afflict living beings!
6. COVENANT
hum d sum l d kn tu zang
HUM When Samantabhadra who transcends the three times,
gy d jung w n su ten
The Tantras are taught in the presence of attentive emanated beings
s len m p da yik le
Through the letters and symbols which are without attachment or desire
hum pel gyi ka nyen b kham kyong
HUM O glorious tutelary goddesses who are obedient to the Word, protectors of this land of Tibet,
May you accomplish those deeds with which you have been charged.

9. RECEIVING OF SIDDHIS
(Then, after the puja offering and the hymn of praise, there follows the receiving of siddhis:)
ho khandro drup p dam tsik da nang tem
HO Now that the samaya obligation of the sadhana practice of the Dakini is completed
(The substances of realization are drawn up into one's three secret places and one experiences them there.)
10. CONFESSION OF MISTAKES
(Then as for the confessing of any mistakes committed during the rite: )
hum y sh khandr kyil khor du
HUM In the mandala of the Jnana Dakini,
OM VAJRASATTVA SAMAYA MANUPALAYA VAJRASATTVA TVENOPATISHTHA DRIDHO ME BHAVA
SUTOSHYO ME BRAVA SUPOSHYO ME BHAVA ANURAKTO ME BHAVA SARVA SIDDHIM ME
PRAYACCHA SARVA KARMA SUCHA ME CHITTAM SREYAH KURU HUM HA HA HA HA HOH

HO Like bubbles appearing in the water,

Dissolve into the space of Primordial Awareness -- VAJRA MUH
And in the period subsequently attained, everything arises again as this illusion-like dimension (of the
Goddess and Her entourage).
IV. CONCLUSION

May whatever wholesome roots of merit exist

HO All phenomenal existence having become the pure realm of Khechara,

HO By virtue of the blessings of the Vidyadhara Lineage
COLOPHON
(One may augment this with any other benedictions. As for this Secret Sadhana of Simhamukha, since it is very profound, it should
be kept secret and apart. Drawing from various symbols and designs having the form of birds, a person of royal rank completed
this lineage. SAMAYA GYA GYA GYA Profoundly sealed! Secretly sealed! (The above text) was set down from a single
hieroglyph in the form of a multicoloured bird drawn on golden paper.)
The translation of the Secret Sadhana of Simhamukha, belonging to the Terma cycle of the Longchen
Nyingthig of Jigmed Lingpa, was made by Vajranatha (John Myrdhin Reynolds); done at Strode House,
South Devon, on this new moon day of the tenth Tibetan lunar month of the Wood-Ox year (November
1985).
