My name is Min Tun. I came from Myanmar.

My family all lives in my country, except

me. Living the American Dream has not been easy. I am single. I came here four years
ago because I wanted to get my American High School Diploma, attend college and
become a mechanical Engineer. I support my family back home.
I want to study to be a mechanical engineering. Engineering is interesting to me. I like to fix
things and see how things work. When I see cars I picture in my mind what designers used for
inspiration. I have wanted to be a mechanical engineer most of my life.
'Why I choose to become a mechanical engineer?' It is because when I was younger, I really
knew how to and enjoyed fixing anything and everything except for cars. That is what I would
like to learn more about that and also why I chose this major. In addition, to achieve my dream
career I would have to attend college to improve my English especially my speech, reading and
writing skills. That would keep me in college two or three years. I am ready to get an associates
degree and a career in order to have more opportunities and good things for the future in my life.
I am working full time. Its not easy to study because I don't have enough time for myself. I am
living in America by myself. It is really difficult to try to do School and work at the same time.
. The mechanical engineer position plan and designs product applications and assemble project
teams. The position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design,
development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects.
A Mechanical engineering education is a great pathway to begin a rewarding career of solving
problems to help make people's lives better and more productive. It not only prepares you for an

engineering career but can also serve as a valuable foundation for leadership and careers in any
number of areas industry, healthcare, academia, public service and even politics.
Mechanical engineering plays a critical role in solving the world's grand challenges by producing
sustainable energy, providing a safe environment and clean water, building safe and efcient
transportation systems, designing new means of energy conversion and storage, and improving
mechanical/electrical systems in homes and buildings. Emerging high technology elds of
nanomaterials and biomechanics are further examples of areas where mechanical engineering
plays a vital role. Furthermore, established areas of mechanical engineering such as design,
manufacturing, automation and control are essential elements to devising large-scale complex
systems that drive the global economy.
Mechanical engineering technicians help mechanical engineers design, develop, test, and
manufacture mechanical devices, including tools, engines, and machines. They may make
sketches and rough layouts, record and analyze data, make calculations and estimates, and report
their findings.
The average engineers salary in 2011 was $99,7381. New engineersthose who have just
graduated from collegewere among the highest paid in the class of 2013, averaging a $62,535
annual salary2. And it doesn't stop there. Over the course of a lifetime, engineering majors will
earn 1.4 million dollars more than a liberal arts major3.
Of course, average income for engineers varies depending on discipline, qualifications,
experience, and location. Check out Career Options and learn about the various engineering
disciplines.

Mechanical engineers apply their knowledge of physics to design, construct and monitor
mechanical systems. The field of engineering is expansive, covering a variety of sub-disciplines
and commanding the direction of many innovative and exciting technologies. Despite their
position at the forefront of new and ground-breaking science, mechanical engineers have been
around for centuries. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, mechanical engineers can
expect slow job growth overall until 2020. However, because the field includes several
burgeoning areas of mechanical science, job-specific growth over the next 20 years may differ
from the BLS prediction.

Society needs engineers that can and will change the world. Studying engineering has always
appealed to me, mainly because it relies heavily on problem solving and combines my two
favorite subjects, Moths and Science. Other way
Understanding and discovering how mechanical products work has always been an interest of
mine. When I was younger, I would spend hours building complex structures using Lego or KNex which is where my passion for engineering began...

Mechanical engineers work with all aspects of tools and machinery including research, design
and development phases, which allows you career options within the field. Find out the pros and
cons of mechanical engineering to determine if it's the career for you.
Mechanical Engineering Career Pros
Entry-level jobs generally require only a bachelor's degree*

Mechanical engineers are needed in a wide variety of industries*

Employment available in metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas*
Higher than average wages (about $85,000 annual mean wage as of May 2013)*
More than 300 colleges and universities offer degree programs in this specialty**
Mechanical Engineering Career Cons
Slower than average job growth (5% between 2012-2022)*
Maintaining a license may require continuing education*
Tuition for a top ranked school can range from $10,000-$42,000+ per year***
Project work can call for long hours to meet deadlines*

A mechanical engineering education is an excellent foundation for work in other fields. Some
mechanical engineers work on medical problems, such as the mechanics of bones and joints, or
the fluid dynamics of the circulatory system. Mechanical engineers deal with economic issues,
from the cost of a single component, to the economic impact of a manufacturing plant. M.E.'s
can be found in sales, engineering management, and corporate management. Versatility is a
decided asset in a world that is undergoing constant economic, political, industrial, and social
change. Mechanical engineers are educated and positioned, not only to adapt, but to define and
direct change. The diversity of the field of mechanical engineering is represented in the
following areas of involvement.

T he Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) is the offi cial style
guide of the American Psychological Association. Obviously, the APAs style guidelines apply to
those studying psychology; however, APA style is also used in many disciplines that deal with
social sciences. APA style is most appropriate to use when writing about topics related to

disciplines such as psychology, justice studies, education, linguistics, and sociology. However,
many of these disciplines have their own citation styles as well, like those of the Linguistic
Society of America and the American Sociological Society. The scholars who developed APA
style emphasize current data. And that preference makes sense; shouldnt a psychologist treating
someone be working from the most current information? Therefore, the APA citation style gives
the authors name and the copyright date of the text fi rst in a citation. Both pieces of information
appear in in-text citations as well as on the references page, which is the APA name for the list of
sources at the end of the paper. However, with the proliferation of resources on the Internet as
well as the variety of databases libraries can subscribe to, it is important to include the specifi c
publication information for every resource you work with. For example, if one of your professors
gave you a copy of an article about computers and education that led you to an electronic book
found in an electronic database from a college library, your citation for the ebook would look
like this: APA-1 Book Found on Internet (static) * Citation Elements:
