Schools as an assistant principal. I am well qualified for this position,
possessing an Advanced Professional Certificate in Maryland with an ADMIN I
endorsement, certification in English (7-12), ancillary credits in Reading 6
and Special Education, a B.A. in Secondary Education (English
concentration), and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction.
My experiences as a 6th grade English Language Arts teacher, a Teacher
Incentive Fund (TIF) participant, and a department leader have afforded me
the opportunity to interact with both a diverse student and teacher
population. As an educator and Highly Effective TIF teacher, I have utilized
teaching practices that coincide with a Universal Design for Learning,
Common Core State Standards, Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching,
and AVID Strategies. To ensure that every student has access to success, my
methods encompass extensive modeling, scaffolding, differentiation, and
multiple means of assessment to ensure that every student achieves
excellence.
My experiences as a lead teacher have afforded me the opportunity to work
closely with my building principals and lead teachers to promote rigorous
instruction. Through data analysis and administrative and supervisory
directives, I have professional development meetings for my department to
enhance rigorous instruction, promote collaboration, and cultivate a culture
of learning for both educators and students. I work to mentor and coach all
teachers on my staff. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and I
excel at building relationships with both colleagues and students. I would
