When referring to PLC programming, an interrupt is an immediate breakaway from the

main program to execute a subroutine(s), and then return. Examples include tasks that
need to execute at a particular time of day, or subroutines that need to run on a cyclic
basis. Other interrupts execute on a fault basis, such as a hardware or software
problem. This example will show you how to set the trigger point for a time of day
interrupt.
