Many objectives focus on interventions that are designed to
reduce or eliminate illness, disability, and premature death
among individuals and communities.
Improve cardiovascular health and quality of life through
prevention, detection, and treatment of risk factors for MI and
stroke; early identification and treatment of MIs and strokes; and
prevention of repeat cardiovascular events.
Prevent HIV infection and its related illness and death.
Promote healthy sexual behaviors, strengthen community
capacity, and increase access to quality services to prevent STDs
and their complications
