IN PLANT TRAINING
Introduction
Training and development of human resource has evoked a great deal of interest in
recent year. Employee training attempts to improve Skill or add to the existing
level of knowledge so that employee is better equipped to do his present job not
seriously implemented.
Employee training has become necessary and increasingly important as jobs have
become more sophisticated and influenced by technology change. Every
organization needs to have well trained and experienced people to perform the
activities that have to be done. As jobs have become more complex importance of
employee training has increased.
6
What is in-plant training?
The most widely used methods of training by the organization can be classified as
either on- the- job or off –the- job training .
On-the-job training
This most widely used methods of training takes place on the job. On –the- job
training places the employee in his actual work situation and makes his appear to
be immediately productive. It is learning by Apprenticeship training, job
Instruction, coaching, understanding assignment.
Off- the-job training covers numbers of techniques Such as class room lectures,
film, demonstration, case study and programmed instruction. In-plant training is
on –the- job training methods. In-plant training is intended to make candidate
aware of work situation and prepare him to be productive

sound respected business community in India. They command a good respect in
the area. They have experience of about one & half decade in the steel area.
9
Group Companies
‘Meta Rolls (Jalna) Pvt. Ltd.' which is incorporated as an expansion to Mauli Steel
Pvt. Ltd. produces M.S. Billets. It is incorporated as backward integration to Rajuri
Steel Pvt. Ltd. as it will serve as a main supplier to Rajuri Steel Pvt. Ltd. The
installed capacity is 40000MT / Annum.
10
Why Rajuri
Spend Less Money
Cost - 5 % More
than CTD
Spending - 10%
Less than CTD
1. Bend Properties
Rajuri Thermex TMT500 rebars have
excellent bend properties due to the
unique ductility (elongation values)
obtained when using the German HSE
Thermex Technology.
2. Corrosion Resistance properties
Controlled water-cooling prevents the formation of coarse carbides, which has
been cited as the main cause for the corrosive nature of common bar.
Another reason for better corrosion resistance is the absence of surface stresses
caused by the cold twisting (and Torsteel) process.
11
3. Weldability
Rajuri Thermex TMT500 rebars with carbon content less than 0.25% can be
used for butt and other weld joints without reduction in strength at the weld
joints.
4. Fire Resistance
Unlike Torsteel and CTD Rebars, Thermex bars have high thermal stability.
They are the preferred choice when elevated temperatures of 400-600 C may be
encountered (Chimneys, fires).
5. Earthquake Resistance
Thermex rebars have high fatigue resistance to Dynamic/ Seismic loads due to
its higher ductility quality. This makes Thermex bars most suitable for use in
earthquake prone areas.
6. Formability
Due to very high elongation values and consistent properties throughout the
length of bar, Thermex rebars has excellent workability and bendability.
7. Strain Ageing
Due to unique and scientific manufacturing process and chemical composition,
Thermex rebars show no tendency of embrittlement either during welding or
cold deformation of welded joints.
8. Cost Effective
Thermex TMT rebars required 15-20% less usage than CTD bars for same work
with cost 5% more than CTD bars. This results in overall saving of 10-25%.
12
Quality Policy
'Rajuri Steel Pvt. Ltd.' has fully fledged testing and inspection facilities to check
both chemical and physical parameters. We have also got license to use standard
mark on our products as per IS 1786 and IS 13920.
13
Mill Details
“Rajuri Steel” recently completed the mill up gradation by introduction of
Licensed “THERMEX COOLING TECHNOLOGY” of HSE, Germany. HSE
Thermex system has been successfully employed to produce bars of all
International Standards such as
14
What TMT Rebars?
• Rajuri Thermex TMT500 ensures greater safety due to very high elongation
values of 16-25%.
• The use of high strength Thermex TMT bars results in 15-20% in steel
consumption and overall cost saving upto 10-15%.
• CTD rebars are not used in construction in advanced countries but are used
• Extensively in India.
• Globalization has brought awareness about the deficiencies of CTD bars as
the demand for TMT rebars is increasing globally.
• In most developed countries, rebars with Yield Strength of
minimum500N/mm2 (as against 415 N/mm2 in CTD bars) are specified for
RCC work.
• Rajuri steel is uniquely made to be stronger, more bendable, and has a higher
thermal stability.
• More efficient for Seismic and/or Fatigue Loads.
• Overall cost effective.
15
WHY THERMEX TMT REBARS?
• The consumers of TMT rebars must ensure that they are using correct TMT
rebars. This is essential today as many rolling mills in India are merely
spraying water on the bars in an unscientific way and selling them as ‘TMT’
rebars.
• Their strength is even less then CTD bars. The process is simple and
effective. It is ‘Worker Friendly’ due to its unique process and proprietary
hardware.
• Thermex TMT rebars are preferred choice of civil and structural designers
worldwide.
16
THERMEX PROCESS
Introduction
Directly after the last rolling mill stand, the steel bar receives a short, intensive
cooling as it passes through the THERMEX Water Cooling System. The reduction
in temperature converts the surface layer of steel bar to a hardened structure. This
phase of intensive cooling is followed by further cooling in atmosphere, so that the
temperature between core (which is still hot) and the cooled surface layer is
equalized and the surface layer gets tempered from the heat of the core. The
resultant structure is a tempered Martensite zone at theperiphery & a fine grain
ferrite-pearlite structure in the central zone. So the Rajuri Thermex rebars have all
the desired properties without the need of costly alloying elements.
Thermex Process
Thermex® is world class German Technology of ‘Quenching & Self-Tempering’
an important stage in the manufacturing of Steel Rebars. The license to use this
technology was granted to Rajuri steel by H & K Rolling Mills Engineers Pvt. Ltd.,
Mumbai, the exclusive collaborators for Indian Territory, of Hennigs Dorfer Steel
Engineering GmbH, Germany, the developer and patent holders of the coveted
Thermex® Technology.
1. Quenching Stage
The red hot MS Billets are passed through the rolling mill to manufacture Steel
Rebars. At the last stage of manufacturing, while the bars are still red hot, the outer
surface of these bars is subjected to rapid water cooling. This makes the outer
17
surface harder and obtains a surface layer of crude marten site. This provides the
surface hardness and thus strength to Steel Rebars. The efficiency of the water
cooling equipment used at this stage is pretty important in order to produce exact
results.
2. Self-Tempering Stage
In the Second Stage the bar leaves the water quenching line and is exposed to
atmosphere, thus allowing it to be cooled. The heat flux, from the still hot core of
the bars, reheats the quenched surface by conduction and the marten site formed in
the first stage is thus subjected to self-tempering, which ensures adequate ductility
while maintaining high Yield Strength levels. This physical property of ductility is
nothing but the capability of the Steel Rebars to bend and Re-bend and has
tremendous significance in the process of construction.

must be of the right quantity in proper quality for the delivery at the correct time &
at most favorable price from the outside.
The principle of the company for the purchase department is the procurement of
goods of the right quality in the right quantity at the right time from the right
source & at right price.
This is a department in the company as it directly deals with raw material needed
for the production of product that is Blades.
This department gets the production planning from the marketing department. The
next step of material dept is to contact with respective vendor to fulfil the needs.
According to requirement, the dept will search the vendor.
The vendors have to make the quotation and allow submitting in company
including the price list of raw material. The proper vendor is selected who is
eligible from point of view of price, quality and who clarifies every teams and
condition the transaction. The purchase order is given to vendor. The PO includes
the list of raw material, quantity etc. The PO is very important part of transaction
as it the legal proof between the company and the vendor. But before giving the
PO to vendor, material dept checks the stock in stock dept and then accordingly
gives order.

PRODUCTION
DEPARTMENT
31
Production Department
H.O.D. = MR.JASBEER SINGH
The raw material and various components required for production comes from
store dept. There are various means through which raw material is transferred from
store dept to production dept.
32
Blades are the raw material for TMT BAR so production of blades is very
important for the company. Blades produced in mainly two categories
33
34
1. Scrap Yard Department
HOD=MR.CHAVAN
Scrap yard department means department where trucks of raw material are
unloaded and all (scrap) raw materials is keep for operation. All material is keep
here grade wise as per their types and contains scrap yard supplies material to
furnace department as per their requirement.
1) Press machine
2) Cutting machine
3) Crain
35
2. Furnace Department
HOD =MR.SHRMA
In common words furnace means an enclosed structure for instance heating by fire
especially for metal. There are 15-20 people are working in that department. In
furnace department all raw material is melt by heating it at 1650 degree
temperature. Furnace contains two tanks, copper coils for increase temperature,
Hydrolic system. The capacity of one tank is of 25 tons.
All that melt material is kept in furnace the quality of steel is maintain here by
adding Required contain in material & it also removes impurities from melt
material like carbon & add sponge iron, aluminum, magnize.
36
3. CCM Department
HOD=MR.VAIKOS
machine it produces the blades by melt steel it takes melt material with the help of
ladle it works as a transporter it carries melt iron from furnace to CCM machine.
First of all the ladle is fill from furnace then it carry with the help of Crain then it
placed at the top of CCM machine ,the ladle has a nosel at bottom that nosel is
open in teddies , All material is fill in teddies then nosel is opened the tendis has 2
nosel both are opened simultaneously then the melt iron is goes to molult tubes
hear the cooling process takes place then the blades comes out of machine on
rollers here we can cut it as per size required with the help of gas cutter
37
2. Production of TMT bar
38
In production of TMT Bar blades are used as a raw material. There are several
stages in production of TMT Bar these are as follows
• Then these blades are goes through rolling stands by which blades become
smaller and smaller that process is done certain times
• Then it goes to Thermex process for instant cooling by which bars become
more harder & strong
Manufacturing Process
• Raw materials undergo visual examination and chemical analysis
• Once cleared, they are cut into the required sizes.
• Materials pass through the preheating and soaking zones in the furnace and
non attaining the required temperature
• Conveyors are used to feed the materials to Roughing Mill, specific to bar
diameter.
• After the exit, the materials are fed to the Finishing Mill for manufacturing
small diameter bars. Materials obtained from Finishing Mills then pass
through the cooling system with predetermined cooling parameters to
produce TMT bars.
• The treated bars are left on the cooling bed to acquire the desirable
mechanical properties through tampering of the water quenched surface.
• The bars then pass through shearing machine to cut them into desired
lengths.
• Quality testing is done as per the defined norms.
• Afterwards, the bars are bent, bunched, tagged and stored for dispatch.
Production Procedure
39
1. MELTING
At this stage the direct reduced iron (D.R.I.) is melted in a furnace and there after
refined to produce Steel Ingots/ billets of desired chemical composition to ensure
the quality and purity of Steel Ingots/ billets.
The Billets are then heated in a micro processor based PLC controlled hearth
furnace and is rolled through a series of mill stands which progressively reduce the
billets to the final size and shape of reinforcing bars.
3. QUENCHING
As soon as the bar leaves the final mill stand, it is rapidly and vigorously cooled
from 1250°C to the optimal temperature. It is done in a completely automated
quenching box made with T & Q technology from GERMAN, where the product
undergoes a uniform surface hardening treatment to form a hardcore martensitic
layer, which provides the steel it strength along with adhesive layering.
4. SELF-TEMPERING
The rebar leaves the quenching box with the temperature gradient through its cross
section, the temperature of core being higher than that of the surface. This allows
heat to flow from core to the surface, resulting in tempering of surface, giving a
40
structure called Tempered Martensite, which is strong and tough. The core is still
austenitic at this stage.
5. ATMOSPHERIC COOLING
The last stage takes place while the product lies on the cooling bed where the bar is
subjected to normal air-cooling reduced to ambient temperature. The austenitic
core is then transformed to a ductile ferrite- pearlite core. Thus, the final structure
consists of a combination of strong outer layer of tempered Martensite and a
ductile core of ferrite-pearlite.
7. DISPATCH
