ABSTRACT

Kinesthetic Intelligence is one of the elements in the theory of Multiple Intelligence.


It is an essential theory as each individual possesses a unique blend of all the
intelligences. However this theory of intelligences is differentiated through the way
one think, act, and learn. This study involves 19 remedial pupils from Year 1 Bestari,
Sekolah Kebangsaan Gembut, Kota Tinggi, who are weak in reading. This study will
help to decrease the number of remedial student in reading in my school. Therefore
the innovation on teaching and learning process is focused. The RODA SUKU KATA
(Syllable Wheel) integrates play in learning so that it can improve the reading skill in
KV+KVK in pupils. The intervention has been done to the pupils within four weeks
before. The utilization of play and drilling during the intervention helped the pupils
to improve their performances and change their perception towards reading. Based
on the result after the intervention, it shows the improvement in pupils reading
skill, KV + KVK. From the interview, it shows that pupils are interested to read. All
pupils managed to understand and develop the reading skill appropriately. The
pupils had fun in learning. The overall result suggests that this RODA SUKU KATA
(Syllable Wheel) manages to instill interest in pupils and directly improve the
reading skill on the remedial pupils. From the finding, it is hoped that it will enhance
the experience, infuse values, and share knowledge about the willingness in
improving the skill. Nevertheless, there are weaknesses that need to be improved
especially on the pupils attitude while doing the practices and also the number of
exercise, which should be increased. Few suggestions have been point out as to
improve this study in the future.
