Your prompt attendance is required!

You are allowed 5 unexcused tardies per nine weeks. Habitual tardiness is
unacceptable and unfair to other students because instruction is interrupted every time
a late student arrives. Every five (5) unexcused tardies within a grading period count as
one unexcused absence and will also result in an hour of detention.
If you are absent, school policy allows ONE DAY for make up for each day you
missed. You must get assignments and notes from your classmates, or you can email
Mr. Reid. Take clear and complete notes and encourage your classmates to do the same.
You may need each other in the future.

Deadlines are not negotiable

Time schedules are crucial in the professional world. You lose one letter grade
on the assignment for each day you are late. If it is not in by the third, you will receive
an F on the assignment. If you miss a day of participation due to an excused absence
you may make up the time after school during a scheduled time. See Mr. Reid about
scheduling this make up work time.
Shop requirements include:
1. You must wear safety glasses when operating power tools. If you do not
wear them, your participation grade will suffer.
2. Be dressed and ready for class at the bell.
No open-toed, platform or high heeled shoes.
No loose clothing, dresses or skirts. (Shorts can be worn under dresses skirts)
Long hair must be tied back.
Personal items such as backpacks, bags and jackets must be stored in the space
provided.
No cell phones. This is a school rule!!! It will be taken from you.
(They are to remain there till the bell has rung.)
3. No food, gum or beverages are allowed in the theatre or shop. The one
exception is a closed container of water in the shop.
4. Always be aware of your surroundings and others in your area. There
are many bodies, power tools and projects, along with a great deal of electricity,
chemicals and weight, handled in a limited amount of time. Be careful!
5. No sitting while others are working: I know this seems extreme but this is a
very active class and your grade is based on your participation. Also, no one wants to be
working hard while other people just sit and watch them work.
6. Pay attention to the instructions: the information given in class is mostly for
your safety. If you do not listen to all of the instructions you can be injured by
something. Please pay close attention to the guidelines of using the equipment and the
daily instructions for a project.
