On the Road No More

By Elton Camp
Bubba struck a note of fear
In anyone who came near
Black leather jacket, skull on back
Of any helmet, there was a lack
Other bikers did abhor
His Harleys warning roar
His old lady rode behind
Bubba, always shed mind
Grown men cowered in dread
Trembling at what Bubba said
In a caf he happened to be
His meal was always free
The bikers life he did extol
Finally, old age took its toll
Riding nursing home halls is he
Still longing for what used to be
