The shift from agro based economy to an industrial is an essential part of the process of
economic development. Exports of textiles and garments are the principal source of foreign exchange
earnings. By 2002 exports of textiles, clothing, and ready-made garments (RMG) accounted for 77% of
Bangladeshs total merchandise exports. By 2013, about 4 million people, mostly women, worked in
Bangladesh's $19 billion-a-year industry, export-oriented ready-made garment (RMG) industry. Sixty percent
of the export contracts of western brands are with European buyers and about forty percent with American
buyers. Due to its major contribution in the economy it has become very important for the
garments to meet the customer needs and emphasize on the customers satisfaction as the
competition is getting very tight since other LDCs are also competing in the same sector.
Therefore customer satisfaction is playing a huge role in the success of the organization as well
as in the overall economy.
