By
the
end
of
the
academic
year,
my
scholars
will
have
matured
academically
and
personally,
preparing
themselves
for
future
success.
Scholars
will
take
steps
in
becoming
independent
and
confident
learners,
preparing
themselves
to
enter
the
4th
grade,
and
work
towards
becoming
college
and
career
ready.
Academic
Goals
100%
of
scholars
will
make
at
least
1.6
years
of
reading
growth,
measured
by
the
Independent
Reading
Level
Assessment
Framework.
At
Global
Leadership
Academy,
the
3rd
grade
participates
in
the
American
Reading
Companys
100
Book
Challenge,
which
utilizes
the
Independent
Reading
Level
Assessment
Framework
to
gauge
progress.
My
scholars
will
engage
with
texts
of
their
choosing,
at
their
independent
reading
level,
on
a
daily
basis.
Scholars
will
read
for
at
least
an
hour
a
day.
Through
this
process
my
scholars
will
become
confident
in
their
ability
to
read
and
be
expected
to
further
challenge
themselves
in
our
weekly
reading
conferences.
Scholars
will
have
at
least
85%
mastery
of
3rd
grade
math
standards,
measured
by
end
of
unit
and
end
of
year
assessments.
Scholars
will
progress
through
the
Eureka
Math,
Engage
NY
curriculum,
which
challenges
them
to
delve
into
math
through
real
world
applications,
critical
thinking,
and
problem
solving.
My
scholars
will
become
confident
mathematicians.
Personal
Goals
Scholars
will
take
ownership
and
responsibility
of
their
own
education,
measured
by
their
behavior
and
attitudes
within
the
classroom.
The
transition
to
third
grade
at
Global
Leadership
Academy
Charter
School
is
a
big
one.
Scholars
are
not
simply
moving
from
one
grade
to
the
next;
they
are
changing
learning
communities,
graduating
from
Rising
Stars
Academy
and
entering
into
Legendary
Leaders
Academy.
With
this
change
come
new
expectations
for
each
scholar
to
meet.
Scholars
must
keep
track
of
their
own
work,
no
longer
relying
on
parent
and/or
teacher
to
assure
that
all
assignments
are
completed
and
turned
in
on
time.
Additionally,
scholars
must
recognize
that
their
actions
in
and
outside
of
the
classroom
have
consequences.
If
they
wish
to
achieve
academically,
they
must
first
take
responsibility
for
how
their
actions
affect
their
success.
Scholars
recognizing
their
role
in
creating
a
strong
learning
environment,
through
respecting
and
following
classroom
norms
Scholars
will
think
critically,
measured
by
their
ability
to
engage
in
meaningful
questioning
and
discussion.
As
it
is
Global
Leadership
Academys
mission
to
create
future
leaders
of
the
world,
my
scholars
will
understand
how
they
can
become
agents
of
change
and/or
growth
in
their
communities.
They
will
do
so
by
developing
the
ability
to
think
critically.
Scholars
will
draw
from
a
foundation
of
knowledge
and
experiences
to
address
new
and
complex
situations.
Scholars
will
feel
confident
engaging
in
discussions
and
will
be
able
to
articulate
their
beliefs,
values,
and
opinions.
