Aguila Oral Lichenoid lesion Associated with Amalgam Material
Oral Lichenoid Lesion is a oral mucosal contact reactions contact to dental
amalgam. Given the high prevalence of amalgam restorations and the low number of reported adverse effects, amalgam is clearly a very safe restorative material. In a small number of susceptible individuals, however, OLL may develop on areas of the oral mucosa that are in direct contact with amalgam fillings. As a dental clinician who uses amalgam material in restoring carious lesion,I should be aware of thepossible manifestations and treatment of this oral lichenoid lesion. We should know the clinical appearance of the said lesion because there are some lesions that have the same manifestations with oral lichenoid lesion. This study aimed to clarify the clinical features of the oral lichenoid reactions/lesions induced by dental restorative materials, to evaluate the different diagnostic methods for relating lesions to restorations. Although nowadays silver amalgams are used much less as a sealing material in the field of restorative dentistry, many adults are still wearing restorations made of this material.,so it's very necessary for us dental practioner to know the etioly, clinical manifestations and treatment of the said lesion
