Behaviorist
1. What is behaviorism?
1. Behaviorism a theory of learning that rejected prior psychological ideas which
proposed that researchers should assess the conscious and unconscious aspects of
the mind to understand human functioning.
2. Human Development
3. It matters because it observed human actions, rather than human thought process.
1. Still confused?
1. Behaviorism is primarily concerned with observable behavior, as opposed to
internal events like thinking and emotion. Observable (i.e. external) behavior can
be objectively and scientifically measured. Internal events, such as thinking
should be explained through behavioral terms (or eliminated altogether).
Important related key terms (McLeod).
2. Observable behavior, concluded by the environment, and not and internal event
process of thinking.
3. Behaviorism as a theoretical option in psychology dates back to the twentieth
century and defied the tenets of experimental psychology which sought to analyze
conscious experiences in favor of objectively studying animals and humans
(Hart).

1. Type of Development
1. Behaviorism is reproductive.
2. When it comes to my career Skinner and his reinforcement, punishment theory
interest me the most. His whole concept on humans lacking consciousness and
actions being controlled through consequences is the exact same way I view life.
3. Your behavior changes through growth and maturity.
4. You could also be finding yourself at the exact same time or your behavior
change.
