Biography

De Fossa was born in Perpignan. His father, also named Franois de Fossa, was one of the most important
historians of the province of Roussillon. Guitarist and composer, and an officer in the French army. He
travelled to Mexico in the 1790s. He translated Dionisio Aguado's method into French and arranged for its
publication in Paris. He died in Paris, aged 73.
