Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America -Class Project Rubric

Students will have 1 week to work on this class project.


Project grade based on content and presentation.
Project boards due on Tuesday 9/29/15 and presentations will start on 9/29/15
and continue until all students have finished.
Part I.

(100 points total)

General information: (10 Points)


o Title: Name of country. Spelling counts! Must be neat. Please use colors and
be creative.
o Music and Food- Provide 1 picture for each. Label the names for the food
and describe the influence or types of music
o Geography: describe the landscape of the country to the class
o Location in the world: is this country in North, South or Central America?
Capital/Map: Students must have a picture of the map. Country must be
identified on the map and the Capital as well. (5 points)
Flag: Students must have a picture of the flag and a description of what the colors
and symbols (coat of arms) mean. (5 points)
National Flower, tree or animal- Picture and name. (5 points)
Population- Data (5 point)
Famous person - Why is this person famous? Provide a picture (5 points)
Landmarks- Print two pictures of two important landmarks and label them. (5
points)
Poster board organization (15 points)
Presentation (15 points)
Information accuracy (15 points)
Spelling (10 points)

Presentation

Greetings- Student must introduce himself/herself in Spanish.

Introduce the facts in a clear, organized manner.

Is the poster board organized and easy to read?

Gracious Professionalism Students must be prepared to present (not


read everything from the project) and must present in a professional
manner.

This entire Summative Assessment will also receive one IB Grade. Please
refer to Rubric for Objectives being assessed and for details on IB
Grades.
