Navigation

Intended Use

* OK button turns on the device and activates a selection.

* Navigation arrows scroll through menu selections. Selected items are high
lighted black.
* Soft keys activate the functions that appear at the bottom line of the display.

The Echo-Screen device is a fast, reliable, easy to use screener for detecting
hearing loss in newborns, infants, children, and adults by means of Distortion
Product Otoacoustic Emisions, DPOAE.

Safety Information
This operation manual contains information and warnings that must be followed to ensure the safe operation of the Echo-Sreen device.
Warning: The following conditions or practices might
present possible injury or danger to the patient and/or
the user.

Ear probe

Test cavity

If the Echo-Screen device is used during surgery, the

probe and connectors must not touch conductive items
including ground.
During application of HF surgical devices the EchoScreen device must not be used.
During application of defibrillators the Echo-Screen
device must not be used.

Preparing for Testing

The probe socket is intended to connect the ear probe

to the Echo-Screen device. No other device may be
connected to this socket.

Connecting of the ear probes

The serial interface (RS232) is intended for connection

of a label printer or a PC, using the supplied data management software. No other device may be connected.
No connection to this socket is permitted while a patient
is in contact with the probe.

Note: One probe test per day is recommended prior to testing patients
(see below: Options, Self Test => Probe test).

Connect the ear probe to the probe socket of the Echo-Screen device.

Fitting the ear probe

Select an ear tip fitting the patients ear canal.
Push the ear tip onto the probe tip until it sits
against the probe.

If the ear probe is used with an unsuitably sized ear tip

or if excessive force is applied, the ear canal may be
affected.
The probe tip must not be placed into the ear canal
without using a proper ear tip.

Insert the probe into the auditory canal to such

an extent that it maintains a stable position by
itself.

Before printing: remove the ear probe from the patient.

Recommended ear tips for prematures and

newborns: size 4 mm to 5.5 mm, mushroom
and tree tip.

Before cleaning: The Echo-Screen device must be

turned off and disconnected from any external current
source.

Running a Screening Test

Always ensure that no moisture gets inside of the probe

or into the socket. Never immerse the Echo-Screen
device into water or other cleaning solutions.

the Main menu display and press OK to
continue.

Calibration is automatically performed prior to

testing.

Soft key (right)

If the probe does not fit properly, the screen displays the word Leak. Adjust the position of the
probe.

Navigation arrow
(down)

The probe fit is followed by a balance test to

make sure that the two speakers function
correctly.
The measurement starts automatically after
these procedures are completed.
The DPOAE test is conducted at four frequencies (4000 Hz, 3200Hz, 2500 Hz, 2000Hz). The
test progress is indicated on the display.To skip
one frequency press the left soft key (SKIP). To
stop the test press the right soft key (STOP).

Please note: if you select delete, all results will

be deleted.

The status of each test frequency is denoted as

follows:
- key note = current test
- P= pass
- R = refer
- S = skipped

Settings
In the Settings menu select the required item
and press OK to continue.
Press OK to store a new setting.
Language
=> see the implemented languages and scroll
to the language of your choice.

At the completion of the test, a PASS or

REFER result for each tested frequency is displayed automatically .

Date/Time
=> check the date and real time. Press the right
soft key (SELECT) to change the settings. Use
the navigation arrows to step up or down to
assess the value of the date and time units
selected.

Note:
A minimum of 3 test frequencies must pass for
an overall PASS.

Print

Date /Time format

=> see the Date/Time format and select the
format of your choice.

The data measured for each patient can be

printed via the menu Print. Connect the label
printer to the Echo-Screen device.

Backlight
=> select to switch the backlight on the display
on or off.

Do not connect the label printer to your PC!

Select Print from the Main Menu display and
press OK to view the results.

Probe test and self tests

Select Probe test from Self test menu to check
that the probe functions properly.

Scroll to the required result. Confirm with OK to

start printing.

You get information about: probe type, serial #

of probe, date of last calibration.
Insert the probe into the test cavity before starting the probe test.
Press OK to start the self test.

View Results
The data measured for each patient can be displayed via the menu Results.
Select Results from Main Menu display and
press OK to continue.

Scroll to other items in the Self test menu and

press OK to continue. To store a new setting
press OK.

What is indicated in Results?

column 1: test number
column 2: test type
column 3: date of test
column 4: time of test
column 5: right or left side
column 6: result (PASS= P/ REFER=R)

Discharge battery
=> recommended to do before recharging a
battery which is not discharged completely
Codec test
=> checks the functionality of the coder/decoder
LCD test
=> checks the functionality of the display

Scroll to select a certain result.

Press OK to view the results in detail.

Keyboard test
=> checks the functionality of the keyboard

A maximum of 50 records can be stored. If the memory is full, a warning message will be displayed. Print the results for your documentation or transfer it to
the PC via the supplied data management software. Therefore connect the
Echo-Screen device via the serial cable to your PC. Open the software and
refer to the software instructions. Once the data is transferred, it can be deleted
from the Echo-Screen device.

SW/HW information
ISW/HW information provides information
about: type, version and release of the software, the serial number of the device, the date
of the last calibration and the next recommended calibration.

Options
Select Options from the Main Menu display
and press OK to continue.

Maintenance
* Cleaning of the Echo-Screen device
Use wiping disinfectant only (ethanol (70-80%), propanol (70-80%) or aldehydes (2%-4%)). Clean with a damp cloth. Attend to local laws!
* Cleaning of the probe tip
Two step cleaning procedure.
1. Dry cleaning: after detecting any debris at the probe tip.
2a. Wet cleaning and disinfection: after each working day.
2b. Wet cleaning and sterilization: after testing in an infected ear canal.

The Options Menu allows you to:

- delete the data memory
- modify settings of signals and display
- perform self tests (all kinds of device checks)
- get information about hardware und software.
Select the required item from the Option menu
and press OK to continue.

Delete data memory

In the Delete data memory display you are
asked whether you really want to delete.
Select the requested answer and press OK to
continue.

For dry cleaning: remove the probe tip (B),

press the button (A) and push the probe tip
simultaneously away from the probe case.
Use the cleaning tool (C) to remove the acoustic filter (D) from the probe tip.

Use the cleaning tool (C) to clean the sound

channels of the probe tip from the rear.

This warranty does not cover breakage or failure due to tampering, misuse,
neglect, accidents, modification or shipping and is void if the instrument is not
used in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Please return your
instrument to your local distributor or representative for warranty attention!

Ensure that the sound channels are completely

dry before replacing the tip onto the body of the
probe.

Important Note:
The warranty will become void if the probe cleaning instructions are not strictly
adhered to. If the probe is not regularly cleaned as directed in the instructions,
cerumen may result in blockage of the probe, where sensitive components are
contained and could be damaged.

The probe body contains sensitive components. Never attempt to clean the sound
apertures in the probe housing mechanically or
with liquids.

Repair / after-sales service / regular checks

If the Echo-Screen device is found to be defective or in some way varies from
the manufacturers specifications, an authorized dealer will repair, replace or
re-calibrate the instrument at no cost to the purchaser while the Echo-Screen
device is within the warranty period.

Contact your authorized service department for

periodic cleaning of the probe body.
For wet cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization
procedures: see below.

Service and repair of electro-medical equipment should only be carried out by

the equipment manufacturer or by authorized representatives. The
manufacturer reserves the right to disclaim all responsibility for the operation
safety, reliability and performance of equipment, serviced or repaired, by other
parties.

* Changing the acoustic filter

If the Probe Error! message is displayed on the screen, perform a Probe test
(see: Options, Self test, Probe test). If the probe test fails, change the acoustic filter.
Remove the probe tip (please see explanation above). Use the cleaning tool to
take out the acoustic filter and insert a new one.

Dispose defect acoustic filters!

Note: Acoustic filters are disposables. Cleaning or disinfecting is not possible.

Declaration:
All devices type Echo-Screen should be checked and calibrated annualy
through a service center authorized by the manufacturer.

* Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of ear tips and cleaning tool

The ear tips and cleaning tool can be used as disposables. If they are re-used
on multiple patients, they must be wet cleaned and disinfected after each use.
Sterilization of both is required after use in an infected ear canal or after use
for cleaning infected probe tips.

Foundation:
The above mentioned devices including the ear probe contain components
which might get influenced by pressure, temperature, humidity and pollution.
To guarantee a faultless measuring function, the proprietary fault tolerances
are only ensured by means of objective, specifically developed measuring
techniques and defined procedures. Therefore only the specialized service
teams authorized by the manufacturer are permitted to conduct the technical
control.

Wet cleaning:
- Clean the surface with a wet tissue
- Soak in a mild lukewarm soap water bath (5-10 minutes)
Disinfection:
Use a chemical disinfectant of ethanol (70-80%), propanol (70-80%) or aldehydes (2%-4%)

The annual technical control is defined in accordance with the corresponding

instructions for audiometers.
While your Echo-Screen device is being calibrated it is possible to borrow a
"loaner" device so that your screening program can continue.

Sterilization:
Autoclave in accordance to the national laws for vapor sterilization for rubber
materials (i.e. 121C, 45 min. exposure time). Probe tips, ear tips, and cleaning
tool can be exposed up to 45 min. to a maximum temperature of 150 C . It is
recommended not to exceed 50 sterilization cycles for each item. Please make
sure to check all parts for deformation after sterilization.

Storing and shipping conditions
The Echo-Screen device should be stored in the soft case provided. This will
protect the equipment from damage from knocks and weather conditions.

* Cleaning of the test cavity

The test cavity should be used for calibration with a disinfected probe only. In
case of a contamination with pathological bacteria a gas sterilization has to be
performed according the local sanitary/hygiene laws (e.g. with ethylene oxide,
temperature: 55C, pressure: 0,8 - 1bar).

Extreme storage or operation temperatures may cause the LCD to crack (in extremely cold conditions) or affect the calibration of the instrument.

non- rechargable battery as a default which
allows at least 300 measurements. You can
purchase a rechargable NiMH battery from your
service department.

Warranty
The Echo-Screen device has warranty against fabrication defects including
material and workmanship if handled in accordance with the manufacturers
specifications for 15 month from the date of shipment. The warranty does not
apply to the battery, to wearing parts and expendable items.

Lappareil Echo-Screen est un appareil rapide, fiable et dutilisation facile
destin au dpistage des troubles de laudition chez les nourrissons, les
enfants en bas-ge et les adultes aux moyen de: missions Otoacoustiques
de Produit de Distorsion (DPOAE).

respectes afin de garantir un parfait fonctionnement de lappareil EchoScreen.

Attention : Les situations suivantes peuvent ventuellement entraner des blessures ou constituer un danger
pour le patient et / ou lutilisateur.

aucun objet conducteur, y compris la mise la terre.

Navigation

Lappareil Echo-Screen ne doit pas tre utilis lors de

lutilisation dappareils chirurgicaux HF.

* Touche OK : Mise sous tension de lappareil Echo-Screen et confirmation

des entres.
* Touches flches : Droulement via le menu. La fonction slectionne appa
rat sur fond noir.
* Touches de fonctions : La fonction actuelle de ces touches apparat dans la
ligne infrieure de la zone daffichage.

Il est conseill de ne pas utiliser lappareil Echo-Screen

lors de lutilisation de dfibrillateurs.
La douille de la sonde est destine la sonde du conduit auditif. Aucun autre appareil ne devra y tre
branch.

Partie suprieure de lappareil

Echo-Screen avec douille de sonde

La douille RS232 est destine au raccordement de

limprimante ou dun PC (conjointement avec le logiciel
FZ BasicLink). Aucun autre appareil ne devra y tre
branch. Aucun cble ne devra tre raccord la
douille RS232 lorsque la sonde est applique un
patient.
Le conduit auditif risque, si la sonde est enfonce avec
force au moyen dun adaptateur auriculaire trop largement dimensionn, dtre ls.

Sonde du conduit auditif

Coupleur de contrle

La pointe de la sonde ne doit pas tre insre dans le

conduit auditif sans adaptateur auriculaire
correspondant.
Il faudra, avant limpression, retirer la sonde du conduit
auditif du patient.
Lappareil Echo-Screen devra tre dbranch et
dconnect des appareils priphriques avant les
oprations de nettoyage .

Prparation des mesures

Veiller ce quaucun liquide ne pntre lintrieur du

botier. Ne jamais plonger lappareil Echo-Screen dans
leau ou dans un produit de nettoyage.

Brancher la sonde du conduit auditif la douille de la sonde de lappareil

Echo-Screen.

Raccordement du cble de sonde

Remarque : Effectuer avant chaque premire mesure de la journe un contrle de la sonde voir ci-dessous : Options, autocontrle => Contrle de la
sonde).
Prparation de la sonde du conduit auditif
Slectionner un adaptateur correspondant au
diamtre du conduit auditif du patient. Positionner ladaptateur sur la pointe de la sonde
comme reprsent sur la figure de gauche.
Insrer la sonde dans le conduit auditif, de telle
sorte que son positionnement soit stable.
Adaptateur recommand pour les enfants prmaturs et les nouveaux-ns :
Dimensionnement => 4 mm 5,5 mm ainsi que
la forme champignon et la Tree-Tip-Form.

Slectionner le rsultat souhait, confirmer

avec OK pour le consulter en dtail

Remarque :
Linterprtation de tous les processus de mesure est effectue automatiquement

Il est possible de mmoriser 50 mesures au maximum. Une information davertissement est affiche si la mmoire est occupe. Imprimer les rsultats obtenus pour votre documentation ou les mmoriser dans votre ordinateur laide
du logiciel FZBasicLink. Brancher cet effet lappareil Echo-Screen sur votre
ordinateur en utilisant le cble sriel. Ouvrir le menu FZBasicLink et suivre les
instructions du menu. Les donnes, aprs avoir t transfres, pourront tre
effaces de votre appareil Echo-Screen.

Slectionner dans le menu principal loreille

(droite ou gauche) sur laquelle vous souhaitez
effectuer la mesure et confirmer avec OK.

Un calibrage est effectu automatiquement

avant la mesure. Si la sonde nest pas positionne correctement, linformation non tanche
est affiche. Corriger la position de la sonde.

Options
ISlectionner la fonction Options dans le menu
principal et confirmer avec OK.

Le test dquilibrage qui sensuit dtermine si

les deux haut-parleurs fonctionnent
correctement.
Le test DPOAE est effectu pour 4 frquences
(4000 Hz, 3200Hz, 2500 Hz, 2000 Hz).

Le menu Options permet les oprations suiva

ntes :
- Effacement de la mmoire de donnes
- Modifications de signaux et affichages
- Test de contrle divers (Test de systme)
- Informations sur le matriel et le logiciel

Les rsultats du test apparaissent dans la zone

daffichage. Souhaitez-vous :
- sauter une frquence de mesures : appuyer
sur la touche de fonction gauche (CONTINUER)
- interrompre la mesure : Appuyer sur la touche
de fonction droite (STOP)

Choisir la fonction souhaite dans le menu

Options et confirmer avec OK.

Le statut de chaque mesure individuelle est

dcrit de la faon suivante :
- Note cl : Frquence de mesures actuelle
- P= PASS
- S = skipped = continuer
- R = REFER

Effacement de la mmoire de donnes

ILappareil vous demande dans le menu
Effacement de la mmoire de donnes si les
donnes doivent vraiment tre effaces. Confirmer votre saisie avec la touche OK.

Lorsque la mesure est acheve, un rsultat

PASS ou REFER est affich pour chaque
frquence teste.

Remarque
Si vous slectionner la fonction Mmoire de
donnes, tous les rsultas sont effacs.

Remarque :
Un PASS doit tre atteint pour au moins 3
frquences pour un rsultat global PASS.

Rglages
Choisir dans le menu Rglages la fonction souhaite et confirmer avec OK. Appuyer sur OK
pour mmoriser de nouveaux rglages.

Appuyer sur la touche de fonction (RETOUR)

ou sur la touche de fonction gauche (MENU)
pour accder au menu principal.

Slection de la langue
Slectionner slection de la langue pour
afficher les langues disponibles. Slectionner la
langue souhaite.

Impression
Les rsultats obtenus peuvent tre imprims en
appuyant sur Impression. Relier limprimante
dtiquettes lappareil Echo-Screen.

Date / Heure
Choisir la fonction Date / Heure afin de vrifier
ces indications. Appuyer sur CHOISIR pour
modifier le rglage. Les touches flches vous
permettent de corriger les indications de temps
vers le haut ou vers le bas.

Ne pas relier limprimante votre PC !

Slectionner Impression dans le menu principal et confirmer avec OK pour lire les rsultats
de mesures.

Date / Format temps

Choisir le format date / temps pour contrler les
formats daffichage et les modifier
ventuellement.
Lumire
Choisir la fonction Lumire pour connecter ou
dconnecter lclairage de fond.

Slectionner la mesure souhaite. Confirmer

avec OK pour activer le processus dimpression.

Contrle de sonde et autres autocontrles

Slectionner le Contrle de sonde dans le
menu Autocontrle pour vrifier la fonction de
la sonde.

Rsultats des mesures

Les rsultats obtenus peuvent tre appels
sous Rsultats de mesures.
Slectionner Rsultats de mesures dans le
menu principal et confirmer avec OK.

Vous obtenez des informations sur les

paramtres suivants : Type de sonde, numro
de srie et date du dernier calibrage.
Insrer la sonde dans lchantillon vide pour
lopration de contrle. Appuyer sur OK pour
dbuter le test.

Retirer la pointe de la sonde (voir description ci-dessus) et le filtre acoustique

laide de loutil de nettoyage. Monter un nouveau filtre.
Jeter les filtres acoustiques devenus inutilisables en respectant les lois surl
environnement.
Attention :
Les filtres acoustiques sont des articles usage unique. Il nest pas possible
de les nettoyer et de les dsinfecter !

Drouler les autres fonctions dans le menu

Autocontrle et confirmer avec OK. Appuyer
sur OK pour mmoriser de nouveaux rglages.

Contrle Codec
Slectionner le Contrle Codec pour contrler
cette fonction (Codage / Dcodage).

* Nettoyage, dsinfection et strilisation des adaptateurs auriculaires et

des outils de nettoyage
Vous pouvez utiliser les adaptateurs auriculaires et les outils de nettoyage en
tant quarticles usage unique. Il faudra, sils doivent tre rutiliser sur diffrents patients, les nettoyer par voie humide et les dsinfecter aprs chaque
utilisation. La strilisation des adaptateurs et des outils est ncessaire lorsque
la sonde a t insre dans un conduit auditif infect ou en contact avec des
adaptateurs auriculaires infects.

Contrle dcran
Slectionner le Contrle dcran pour vrifier
le champ daffichage.

Nettoyage humide :
- Nettoyage de la surface laide dun chiffon humide
- Bain deau chaude tide avec un savon lger pendant 5 10 minutes.

Contrle de clavier
Slectionner le Contrle de clavier pour vrifier le bon fonctionnement du champ de saisies.

Dsinfection :
Bain de 5 10 minutes dans des produits de dsinfection chimiques : thanol
(70-80%), propanol (70-80%) ou aldhydes (2%-4%).

La fonction Informations SW / HW vous permet dobtenir des informations sur le type et la

version du logiciel utilis, la date de linstallation du logiciel, le numro de srie de lappareil,
la date du dernier calibrage et le calibrage suivant recommand.

Strilisation :
Strilisation haute pression / Autoclaves selon les prescriptions nationales
pour la strilisation la vapeur de matriaux en caoutchouc (p.ex. 121C
pendant 45 min.). Les pointes de la sonde, les adaptateurs acoustiques et les
outils de nettoyage peuvent tre traits pendant 45 minutes une temprature

Entretien

* Nettoyage et dsinfection du coupleur de contrle

Le coupleur de contrle ne devra tre utilis des fins de calibrage quavec
une sonde propre et dsinfecte. Il sera ncessaire, aprs une contamination
due des germes pathognes, deffectuer une strilisation au gaz conformment aux prescriptions locales en matire dhygine (p.ex. avec de loxyde
dthylne, temprature : 55C, pression: 0,8 - 1bar). Nutiliser ni bain de nettoyage, ni strilisation la vapeur !

* Nettoyage de lappareil Echo-Screen

Nutiliser quun produit de dsinfection pour les surfaces : thanol (70-80 %),
propanol (70-80 %) ou aldhydes (2 % - 4 %). Utiliser cet effet un chiffon humide. Tenir compte de la lgislation locale en vigueur.
* Nettoyage de la pointe de la sonde
Processus de nettoyage en deux tapes :
1. Un nettoyage sec / Le nettoyage mcanique devra tre effectu ds que
la sonde est souille. Il faudra ds lors procder de la manire suivante :
2a. Nettoyage humide et dsinfection. Utiliser cette mthode chaque jour dutilisation, mme si aucune souillure nest apparente ou :
2b. Nettoyage humide et strilisation. Il faudra faire appel la strilisation si la
sonde a t introduitte dans un conduit auditif infect.

* Rechargement de la batterie rechargeable

Lappareil Echo-Screen est pourvue en srie
dune batterie permettant 300 mesures au minimum. Vous pouvez toutefois vous procurer une
batterie NIMH rechargeable auprs de votre
fournisseur attitr.
Pour recharger la batterie, enficher la fiche
creuse du chargeur dans la douille de chargement de la batterie. Connecter la fiche de
secteur du chargeur au rseau.

Nettoyage sec / Nettoyage mcanique :

Retirer la pointe de la sonde (B). Appuyer sur le
bouton (A) et pousser simultanment avec prcaution la pointe de la sonde hors du botier de
la sonde.

Le rechargement seffectue automatiquement et est achev aprs environ 2

heures. Si la capacit de charge de la batterie NiMH diminue, recycler la baterie selon les prescriptions cologiques locales en vigueur ou la retourner
votre fournisseur.

Retirer le filtre acoustique (D) laide de loutil

de nettoyage (C).)

Les batteries NiMH peuvent tre recycles.

Nettoyer avec loutil de nettoyage (C) les

canaux acoustiques de la pointe de la sonde de
larrire vers lavant.

Garantie
Aprs la date de livraison, lappareil Echo-Screen est garanti pendant 15 mois
contre les dfauts dorigine imputables lusine. Les prestations de garantie
comprennent les cots de matriaux et de travail et sappliquent en accord
avec les spcifications du fabricant. La garantie ne concerne pas la batterie,
les pices dusure et le matriel dusure.

Attention : Les canaux acoustiques de la pointe

de la sonde doivent tre entirement secs
avant dtre rinsrs dans le corps de la
sonde.

La garantie nest valable que pour les appareils achets auprs des services
de ventes ou des vendeurs ou dpositaires autoriss et agrments. Lacheteur doit envoyer lappareil au service des ventes ou au vendeur ou au
dpositaire autoris et agrment et prendre en charge les frais dexpdition
rsultants. Les dgts rsultants de casse ou de bris, les erreurs de manipulation ou les usages errons, les ngligences, les accidents ainsi que les
dgradations survenues pendant lexpdition sont exclus de la garantie. En
outre, la garantie ne sapplique pas lorsque lappareil nest pas utilis conformment aux recommandations du fabricant. Adresser s.v.p. lappareil dans
le cadre de la garantie votre concessionnaire !

De Echo-Screen is een snel, betrouwbaar en gemakkelijk te bedienen apparaat voor herkenning van gehoorstoornissen bij babys, kleuters en volwassenen door middel van Distorsiion-Product OtoAkoestische Emissies,
(DPOAE).

Deze handleiding bevat veiligheidsvoorschriften, die moeten worden opgevolgd om te zorgen voor onberispelijke toepassing van de Echo-Screen.
Lokale wetgeving en regelingen die erop van toepassing zijn moeten in ieder
geval worden aangehouden.
Waarschuwing: de volgende omstandigheden kunnen
mogelijk tot letsel leiden of een gevaar vormen voor de
patint en/of de gebruiker.

Gehoorgangprobe

Testcoupler

Indien de Echo-Screen tijdens een operatie wordt

gehanteerd, dan mogen de probe en de aansluitingen
niet in aanraking komen met geleidende voorwerpen,
met inbegrip van de aarding.
Tijdens de toepassing van HF-chirurgie-apparatuur mag
de Echo-Screen niet gebruikt worden.

Voorbereiding van de meting

Tijdens de toepassing van defibrillators mag de

Echo-Screen niet gebruikt worden.

Aansluiten van de probekabels

De probeconnector is bestemd voor verbinding met de

gehoorgangprobe. Geen ander apparaat mag daarop
worden aangesloten.

Sluit de gehoorgangprobe aan op de probebus van de Echo-Screen.

Tip:
Voer vr iedere eerste meting van de dag een probe-test uit (zie onder:
hoofdmenu: opties, zelftest => probe-test).

De RS232-connector is bestemd voor aansluiting van

de printer of de PC (in combinatie met de meegeleverde
datamanagementsoftware). Geen ander apparaat mag
daarop worden aangesloten. Terwijl een patint met de
probe verbonden is, mag er geen kabel op de RS232connector worden aangesloten.

Voorbereiden van de gehoorgangprobe

Kies een ooradapter uit, die overeenkomt met
de grootte van de gehoorgang van de patint.

Als de probe met een te grote ooradapter of met

buitensporig veel kracht wordt ingebracht, kan
dat de gehoorgang beschadigen.

Schuif de adapter op de probetip, zoals

weergegeven in de afb. links.
Breng de probe zo in de gehoorgang, dat deze
stabiel zit.

Zonder adequate ooradapter mag het uiteinde van de

probe niet in de gehoorgang worden geplaatst.

Aanbeveling van adapter voor vroeg- en

pasgeborenen:
Grootte => 4 mm tot 5,5 mm zowel voor de
paddestoel- als de boomtopvorm.

Vr het afdrukken moet de probe uit de gehoorgang

van de patint worden verwijderd.
Vr het reinigen moet de Echo-Screen worden uitgeschakeld en van andere apparatuur losgekoppeld.

Uitvoeren van de meting

Let u erop, dat er geen vloeistof binnen in de behuizing

terechtkomt. Dompel de Echo-Screen nooit in water of
een schoonmaakmiddel.

De beoordeling van alle meetmethoden geschiedt automatisch:

Voor de meting vindt automatisch een calibratie plaats. Is de probe niet correct geplaatst,
dan verschijnt de mededeling ondicht!. Corrigeer de positie van de probe.

Pijltoets voor omlaag

Scrollen

De aansluitende balanstest bepaalt of de beide

luidsprekers onberispelijk functioneren.
De DPOAE-Test vindt plaats bij 4 frequenties
(4000 Hz, 3200Hz, 2500 Hz, 2000 Hz). Het
testverloop verschijnt op het scherm. Om een
meetfrequentie over te slaan, drukt u op de
linker functietoets (VERDER), om de meting af
te breken, drukt u op de rechter functietoets

(STOP).
De status van iedere meetfrequentie wordt als
volgt beschreven:
- Notenteken = actuele meetfrequentie
- P= PASS
- S = skipped = verder
- R = REFER

Opmerking:
Als u de functie Gegevensopslag wissen
kiest, dan worden alle resultaten gewist.
Instellingen
Kies in het menu Instellingen de gewenste
functie en bevestig dit met OK.
Druk op OK, om nieuwe instellingen op te
slaan.

Is de meting beindigd, dan verschijnt een

PASS- of REFER-resultaat voor iedere
geteste frequentie.

Taalinstelling
Kies Taalinstelling, om de beschikbare talen te
zien. Kies de gewenste taal.

Let op:
Voor een PASS-resultaat moet in minstens 3
frequenties een PASS beschikbaar zijn.

Datum /Tijd
Kies Datum /Tijd, om deze indicaties te controleren. Druk op KIEZEN, om de instelling te
veranderen. Met de pijltoetsen kunt u de tijdsaanduidingen omhoog of omlaag corrigeren.

Druk op de rechter functietoets (TERUG), of op

de linker functietoets (MENU), om in het hoofdmenu te komen.

Printen
De vastgestelde resultaten kunnen via Afdrukken worden geprint. Verbind de labelprinter
met de Echo-Screen.

Datum/Tijd formaat
Kies Datum/Tijd formaat om deze indicaties te
controleren en zo nodig te veranderen.

Verbind de printer niet met uw PC!

Licht
Kies Licht, om de achtergrondverlichting in- of
uit te schakelen.

Kies Afdrukken in het hoofdmenu en bevestig

dit met OK, om de meetresultaten te zien.

Probe-test en overige zelftests

Kies de gewenste meting.

Bevestig dit met OK, om het drukproces te
starten.

Kies Probe-test in het menu Zelftest, om de

functie van de probe te controleren.

Meetresultaten

U krijgt informatie over: probe-type, serienummer en datum van de laatste calibratie.

De vastgestelde resultaten kunnen via Meetresultaten worden opgeroepen.

Steek de probe voor de controle in de lege

proefingang. Druk op OK, om met de test te
beginnen.

Kies Meetresultaten in het hoofdmenu en

bevestig dit met OK.

Scroll voor overige functies door het menu

Zelftest en bevestig met OK. Druk op OK,

Displaytest
Kies Displaytest, om het scherm te
controleren.

Er kunnen maximaal 50 metingen worden opgeslagen. Als het geheugen vol

is, dan verschijnt er een waarschuwing. Druk de resultaten van uw documentatie af of sla deze op uw PC op met behulp van de meegeleverde datamanagementsoftware. Sluit daartoe de Echo-Screen aan op uw PC met de serile
kabel. Open de software en raadpleeg de software-instructies. Als de gegevens zijn overgebracht, kunnen ze van de Echo-Screen worden gewist.

Keyboard-test
Kies Keyboardtest, om de functionaliteit van
het invoerveld te controleren.

SW/HW Informatie
In het menu SW/HW Informatie krijgt u informatie over type en versie van de ingebouwde
software, de datum van de software-installatie,
het serienummer van het apparaat, de datum
van de laatste calibratie en van de aanbevolen
volgende calibratie.

IKies Opties in het hoofdmenu en bevestig dit

met OK.

Via het menu Opties zijn mogelijk:

- wissen van gegevensopslag
- veranderen van signalen en aanduidingen
- diverse zelftests (systeemtest)
- informatie over hard- en software.

Onderhoud
* Reiniging van de Echo-Screen
Pas alleen desinfectie door afvegen toe (Ethanol (70-80%), Propanol
(70-80%) of Aldehyde (2%-4%)). Gebruik daarvoor een vochtige doek.
Houd rekening met de lokale wetgeving.

Kies de gewenste functie in het menu Opties

en bevestig dit met OK.

* Reiniging van de probetip

Reiniging in twee stappen:
1. droge reiniging / mechanische reiniging moet worden uitgevoerd, zodra
verontreiniging van de probe duidelijk zichtbaar is. In aansluiting daarop:
2a. vochtige reiniging en desinfectie. Deze procedure na iedere werkdag toepassen, ook als geen verontreiniging zichtbaar is. Of:
2b. vochtige reiniging en sterilisatie. Het laatste moet plaatsvinden, wanneer

u gevraagd, of u de gegevens werkelijk wilt
wissen.

de probe in een genfecteerde gehoorgang wordt geplaatst.

Droge reiniging / mechan. reiniging:
Verwijder de probetip (B). Druk daartoe op knop

Garantie
Voor de Echo-Screen geldt na de afleveringsdatum een garantie van vijftien
maanden voor fabricagefouten. De garantievergoedingen omvatten kosten
voor materiaal en arbeidsloon en gelden in overeenstemming met de productspecificatie. De garantie heeft geen betrekking op de accu, aan slijtage
onderhevige onderdelen en gebruikt materiaal.

Verwijder de akoestische filter (D) met behulp

van het reinigingsinstrument (C).
Reinig met het reinigingsinstrument (C) de
geluidskanalen van de probetip van achteren
naar voren.

De garantie wordt alleen verleend voor apparaten, die werden gekocht bij gevolmachtigde bedrijven of handelaren. De koper moet het apparaat zenden
naar het gevolmachtigde bedrijf of de bevoegde handelaar en de verzendkosten dragen die ontstaan. Uitgesloten van deze garantievergoeding zijn breukschade, gebreken als gevolg van manipulatie of verkeerd gebruik, nalatigheid,
ongeval, alsmede schade door verzending. Bovendien vervalt de garantie, als
het apparaat niet volgens aanwijzingen van de producent werd gebruikt. Lever
het apparaat svp in bij uw leverancier in geval van garantievergoeding!

Attentie: De geluidskanalen van de probetip

moeten helemaal droog zijn bij het opnieuw
aanbrengen in de behuizing.

De probe bevat gevoelige onderdelen:

Daarom mogen de geluidsopeningen in de
behuizing niet mechanisch of met vloeistof
worden gereinigd.

Belangrijke verwijzing:
Garantievergoedingen vervallen, wanneer de aanwijzingen voor de probereiniging niet zorgvuldig in acht genomen werden. Indien de probe niet regelmatig
wordt gereinigd volgens de gebruiksaanwijzing, kan cerumen de probe verstoppen, en kunnen gevoelige onderdelen van de probe worden beschadigd.

Neem contact op met een bevoegde serviceafdeling voor de regelmatige reiniging van de
probe.

Reparatie / Service / Regelmatige controle

Wanneer uw screening-apparaat defect is of op enigerlei wijze afwijkt van de
originele instellingen, zal een gevolmachtigde handelaar zonder kosten zorgen
voor reparatie, re-calibratie of vervanging, zo lang er nog garantie bestaat.

* Vervangen van de akoestische filter

Voer een probetest uit, als op het scherm de aanwijzing Probe error! verschijnt (zie: Opties, Zelftest, Probetest). Vervang de akoestische filter, als de
probe niet OK is.
Neem de tip van de probe af (zie beschrijving hierboven) en verwijder het
akoestisch filter met behulp van het reinigingsinstrument. Plaats een nieuw
filter.

De uitvoering van service en reparaties van de electromedicinale onderdelen

mogen alleen door de fabrikant of de gevolmachtigde servicepartner worden
uitgevoerd. De fabrikant behoudt zich het recht voor, alle verantwoordelijkheid
voor de veiligheid, betrouwbaarheid en het prestatievermogen van het apparaat af te wijzen, indien uitvoering van reparaties door derden werd uitgevoerd
(gevolmachtigde plaats voor service: plaatselijke bedrijfspartners).

Werp onbruikbaar geworden akoestische filters weg!

Opmerking:
Akoestische filters zijn wegwerpartikelen. Reinigen en desinfecteren is niet
mogelijk! ein.

Verklaring:
Alle apparaten van het type Echo-Screen moeten jaarlijks door een servicedienst die door de fabrikant is gevolmachtigd worden gecontroleerd en gecalibreerd.

* Reinigen, desinfecteren en steriliseren van ooradapters en reinigings

instrument
Ooradapters en reinigingsinstrument kunnen als wegwerpartikel worden
toegepast. Indien ze echter voor bepaalde patinten opnieuw worden toegepast, dan moeten ze na ieder gebruik vochtig worden gereinigd en gedesinfecteerd.

Toelichting:
In de apparaten van de boven genoemde groep met inbegrip van de meetprobe bevinden zich onderdelen, die zijn blootgesteld aan druk, vocht, temperatuur en verontreiniging. Om een foutloze meetfunctie te waarborgen is de
voor de fabrikant specifieke foutentolerantie slechts met behulp van objectieve, specifiek ontwikkelde meettechniek en een gedefinieerde procedure te
garanderen. De meettechnische controle dient daarom uitsluitend te worden
uitgevoerd door servicediensten die door de fabrikant adequaat geschoold en
gevolmachtigd zijn. De jaarlijkse controletermijn wordt vastgesteld volgens de
geldende voorschriften voor audiometers.

Het steriliseren van beide is een vereiste, als de probe in een genfecteerde
gehoorgang of in contact met een genfecteerde ooradapter toegepast werd.
Vochtige reiniging:
- Oppervlakreiniging met een vochtige doek
- lauwwarm waterbad met milde zeep gedurende 5 -10 min.
Desinfectie:
5-10 min. Bad in chemisch desinfectiemiddel Ethanol (70-80%), Propanol
(70-80%) of Aldehyden (2%-4%).

Technische Specificaties

Hoogdruksterilisatie/Autoclaaf verhitting volgens nationale voorschriften voor
stoomsterilisatie van rubber materiaal (bijv. bij 121C, gedurende 45 min.).
Probetip, ooradapter en reinigingsinstrument kunnen tot 45 min. bij een maximale temperatuur van 150C worden behandeld. Het wordt aanbevolen, niet
meer dan 50 sterilisaties per artikel uit te voeren. Controleer svp na iedere
sterilisatie of enig onderdeel werd vervormd en verwijder deze eventueel.

Opslag en verzending van de Echo-Screen

Bewaar de Echo-Screen in de meegeleverde transportkoffer, om de uitrustingsstukken te behoeden voor stoten en weersinvloed.

* Reinigen en desinfecteren van de test-coupler

De test-coupler dient voor calibratiedoeleinden alleen met een schone en
gedesinfecteerde probe te worden toegepast. In geval van een besmetting
door pathologische kiemen moet een gassterilisatie volgens de hyginevoorschriften ter plaatse worden uitgevoerd. (bijv. met ethylenoxide, temperatuur:
55C, druk: 0,8 - 1bar). Pas geen reinigingsbad toe en ook geen stoomsterilisatie!

Conectarea sondelor pentru canalul auditiv

Mufa sondei are rolul de a asigura legtura dintre sonda

canalului auditiv i aparatul Echo-Screen. Conectarea
altor dispozitive la aceast muf este strict interzis.

Conectai sonda pentru canalul auditiv la mufa sondei de pe aparatul

Echo-Screen.
Observaie: nainte de testarea pacienilor se recomand verificarea sondei
o dat pe zi (vezi mai jos: Opiuni, Autotest => Test sond).

Interfaa serial (RS232) este conceput pentru conectarea unei imprimante de etichete sau a unui calculator
cu ajutorul programului de gestionare a datelor livrat
mpreun cu aparatul. Conectarea altor dispozitive
de orice fel la aceast muf este strict interzis.
Se interzice efectuarea de conexiuni la aceast muf
n timp ce pacientul se afl n contact cu sonda.

Montarea sondei pentru canalul auditiv

Alegei un adaptor de ureche potrivit pentru
mrimea canalului auditiv al pacientului. Aplicai
adaptorul pe vrful sondei, pn cnd fixarea
este ferm.

Dac sonda este introdus folosind un adaptor inadecvat ca dimensiune sau dac este aplicat o for
excesiv, exist posibilitatea rnirii canalului auditiv.

Introducei sonda n canalul auditiv, astfel nct

s aib o poziie stabil.

Introducerea vrfului sondei n canalul auditiv fr un

adaptor de ureche adecvat este strict interzis.

Mrimea adaptorului recomandat pentru

prematuri i nou-nscui: ntre 4 mm i 5,5 mm,
respectiv n form de ciuperc sau vrf de
copac.

nainte de imprimare, sonda trebuie scoas din canalul

auditiv al pacientului.
nainte de curare, aparatul Echo-Screen trebuie oprit
i deconectat de la orice surs extern de alimentare.

Efectuarea msurrii

Asigurai-v ca niciun fel de surs de umezeal nu

va ptrunde n interiorul sondei sau n mufa aparatului
Echo-Screen. Nu scufundai niciodat aparatul
Echo-Screen n ap sau n alte soluii de curat.

Observaie:
Aparatul Echo-Screen furnizeaz n mod automat rezultate de tip PASS i
REFER
rezultat PASS = criteriul de msurare a fost atins
rezultat REFER = criteriul de msurare nu a fost atins

Testul DPOAE este efectuat pe 4 frecvene

(4000 Hz, 3200 Hz, 2500 Hz, 2000 Hz). Progresul testului este indicat pe afiaj. Pentru a omite
o frecven de msurare, apsai tasta funcional stnga (OMITERE); pentru a ntrerupe
msurarea, apsai tasta funcional dreapta
(STOP).
Starea fiecrei frecvene de msurare este
descris dup cum urmeaz:
- simbol not = msurare actual
- P= PASS
- R = REFER
- S = frecven omis

n meniul tergere memorie date vei fi ntrebat dac dorii ntr-adevr s tergei datele.
Selectai rspunsul dorit i confimai cu OK.
Observaie: Dac alegei funcia tergere
memorie date, toate rezultatele vor fi terse.

tasta funcional dreapta (SELECTARE) pentru
a modifica setrile. Utilizai tastele cu sgei de
navigare pentru a verifica data i unitile de
timp selectate.

Observaie:
Pentru ca rezultatul final s fie PASS, trebuie
s se obin PASS la cel puin 3 dintre
frecvene.

Imprimarea

Aparatul poate memora rezultatele a maxim 50 de msurri. Dac memoria

este plin, pe ecran va fi afiat un mesaj de avertizare. Imprimai rezultatele
pentru a le ndosaria sau transferai-le pe un calculator folosind programul
de gestionare a datelor livrat mpreun cu aparatul. Pentru aceasta, conectai
aparatul Echo-Screen la un calculator cu ajutorul unui cablu serial. Deschidei
programul i consultai instruciunile aferente acestuia. Dup ce datele au fost
transferate, acestea pot fi terse din aparatul Echo-Screen.

A se utiliza exclusiv soluie dezinfectant pentru suprafee (etanol (70-80%),
propanol (70-80%) sau aldehide (2-4%)). Curai cu o crp umed.
Respectai legislaia local!

Meniul Opiuni permite:

- tergerea memoriei de date
- modificarea setrilor semnalelor i a afiajului
- efectuarea unor autoteste (diferite tipuri
de teste de verificare a sistemului)
- vizualizarea informaiilor referitoare la
hardware i software
Alegei funcia dorit din meniul Opiuni i confirmai cu OK.

* Curarea adaptorului sondei

Procedeu de curare n dou etape:
1. Curare uscat: dac sunt observate reziduuri pe suprafaa adaptorului
sondei.
2a. Curare umed i dezinfecie: dup ncheierea fiecrei zi de lucru.
2b. Curare umed i sterilizare: dup testarea unui canal auditiv infectat.

Pentru curarea uscat / mecanic: ndeprtai

adaptorul sondei (B). Pentru aceasta, apsai
butonul (A) i n acelai timp mpingei adaptorul sondei n afara carcasei sondei.

Sunt necesare aproximativ 2 ore pentru ca acumulatorul NiMH s se ncarce

complet. Cnd capacitatea de ncrcare a acumulatorului NiMH scade, evacuai acumulatorul conform prevederilor ecologice locale sau returnai-l distribuitorului dvs.

ndeprtai filtrul acustic (D) de pe adaptorul

sondei cu ajutorul instrumentului de curat (C).

Acumulatorii NiMH pot fi reciclai.

Garania

Folosii instrumentul de curat (C) pentru

a cura canalele de sunet ale adaptorului
sondei.

Dac este manipulat conform specificaiilor productorului, aparatul

Echo-Screen dispune de o perioad de garanie de 15 luni de la data livrrii
n cazul depistrii unor defecte materiale i de fabricaie. Garania nu este
valabil pentru acumulator, piese supuse uzurii i articole consumabile.

Garania se acord numai pentru aparatele cumprate de la distribuitori sau

Asigurai-v ca, nainte de a nlocui adaptorul

sondei, canalele de sunet s fie complet
uscate.

Prezenta garanie nu acoper deteriorrile prin spargere, defectele rezultate

n urma manipulrii sau utilizrii incorecte, precum i deteriorrile cauzate
prin neglijen, accidente sau cele survenite n timpul transportului. n plus,
garania i pierde valabilitatea dac aparatul nu este utilizat conform indicaiilor productorului. Pentru a beneficia de garanie, returnai aparatul distribuitorului sau reprezentantului dvs. local!

Sonda conine componente sensibile. Nu

ncercai niciodat s curai orificiile pentru
sunet din carcasa sondei n mod mecanic sau
cu lichide.
Pentru curarea periodic a corpului sondei
adresai-v departamentului dvs. autorizat de
service.

Observaie important:
Garania i pierde valabilitatea n cazul n care instruciunile de curare a sondei nu sunt respectate ntocmai. Dac sonda nu este curat periodic conform
instruciunilor, cerumenul poate nfunda sonda i exist posibilitatea deteriorrii componentelor sensibile ale sondei.

Procedurile de curare umed, dezinfectare i

sterilizare sunt descrise mai jos.

Reparaii / servicii post-vnzare / verificri periodice

Dac aparatul Echo-Screen este defect sau se abate n orice mod de la specificaiile productorului, un reprezentant autorizat va asigura gratuit reparaia,
recalibrarea sau nlocuirea aparatului Echo-Screen att timp ct garania
mai este valabil.

* nlocuirea filtrului acustic

Dac pe ecran este afiat mesajul Eroare sond!, efectuai un test al sondei
(vezi: Opiuni, Autotest, Test sond). Dac testul de sond indic o problem, schimbai filtrul acustic.
ndeprtai adaptorul (a se consulta instruciunile de mai sus). Utilizai instrumentul de curat pentru a scoate filtrul acustic i a introduce unul nou.

Serviciile de reparaii i de service ale echipamentului electric pentru aplicaii

medicale trebuie efectuate doar de ctre productor sau reprezentanii si autorizai. Productorul i declin rspunderea n ceea ce privete sigurana n
funcionare, fiabilitatea i performanele aparatului n cazul n care lucrrile de
service sau reparaiile sunt efectuate de teri.

Aruncai filtrele acustice care nu mai pot fi utilizate!

Observaie: Filtrele acustice sunt produse de unic folosin. Curarea i
dezinfectarea acestora nu este posibil!
* Curarea, dezinfectarea i sterilizarea adaptoarelor pentru ureche
i a instrumentului de curat
Adaptorul pentru ureche i instrumentul de curat pot fi folosite ca articole
de unic folosin. Dac ele sunt totui refolosite la pacieni diferii, ele trebuie
curate umed i dezinfectate dup fiecare utilizare. Sterilizarea acestora se
impune dac sonda a fost introdus ntr-un canal auditiv infectat sau dac
au fost folosite la curarea adaptoarelor de ureche infectate.

Centru service autorizat: distribuitor local

Declaraie:
Toate aparatele de tip Echo-Screen trebuie verificate i calibrate anual de un
service autorizat de productor.
Motivare:
Aparatele menionate mai sus, inclusiv sonda de ureche, conin componente
care sunt expuse la aciunea presiunii, a umezelii, a temperaturii sau a factorilor de contaminare. Pentru a garanta o msurare fr erori, toleranele specifice pot fi asigurate doar prin folosirea unor tehnici de msurare obiective,
special concepute, precum i a unor procedee bine definite. Din acest motiv,
inspecia tehnic va fi efectuat doar de ctre echipe de service specializate
autorizate de productor.

Curarea umed:
- Curai suprafaa cu o crp umed
- Splai cu ap cldu i spun slab (5-10 min).
Dezinfectarea:
Utilizai un dezinfectant chimic pe baz de etanol (70-80%), propanol (70-80%)
sau aldehide (2%-4%).

Data inspeciilor anuale se stabilete pe baza prevederilor n vigoare pentru

audiometre.

Sterilizarea:
Sterilizare prin autoclavare conform reglementrilor naionale pentru sterilizarea cu aburi a materialelor din cauciuc (de ex. la 121C timp de 45 min.). Adaptoarele pentru sonde, adaptoarele pentru ureche i instrumentul de curat pot
fi tratate timp de 45 min. la o temperatur maxim de 150C. Se recomand
efectuarea a cel mult 50 de sterilizri pentru un articol. Dup fiecare sterilizare,
verificai toate componentele pentru a depista eventualele deformri.

n timp ce aparatul dvs. Echo-Screen este trimis spre calibrare, este posibil
mprumutarea unui alt aparat astfel nct s v putei continua programul de
screening.

* Curarea cuplei de test

n vederea calibrrii, cupla de test trebuie utilizat numai cu o sond dezinfectat. n cazul unei contaminri cu germeni patogeni, trebuie s se efectueze
o sterilizare n gaz, conform reglementrilor sanitare/de igien locale.
(Ex.: cu oxid de etilen, temperatura: 55C, presiunea: 0,8 1bar).

Condiii de depozitare i transport

Aparatul Echo-Screen va fi depozitat n carcasa de protecie furnizat.
Astfel, echipamentul va fi protejat mpotriva loviturilor i aciunii factorilor
meteorologici.

Temperaturile extreme de depozitare i de utilizare pot duce la spargerea

ecranului (n condiii de temperatur extrem de sczut) sau pot influena
