and dislike about it; using a lexicon related to places, location, activities you can do, things you can buy and prices,
and using appropriate grammar (present tense, like/dont like, modal can, and prepositions of place).
SITUATION You meet a group of tourists visiting your city, and they would like to hear about your neighborhood.
You must make a description of neighborhood, and tell them what you like and dislike about it. You have 3 to 5
minutes to do this. Discourses will be tape recorded under students consent to guarantee assessment reliability. The
teacher might ask questions during the presentation.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Students will be appointed by groups. Each student in each group will have to make a description of his/her
neighborhood, and tell what he/she likes and dislikes about it.
2. Each student should prepare their description of his/her neighborhood, and practice his/her discourse before class.
3. Each student presents his/her neighborhood description in front of their group. They must describe the places in
their neighborhood and also tell what you like and dislike about it, using a lexicon related to places, location, activities
you can do, things you can buy and prices, and using appropriate grammar (present tense, like/dont like, modal can,
