Defend the Cones

Category: Soccer Dribbling Drills


Goal: This soccer drill focuses on agility and dribbling. The
soccer dribbling drill also emphasises developing functional
dribbling and feinting skills, vision and reaction.
under U10, U10-U12, U13U15

Difficulty Level 4

Organisation
Four cones are used to create an approximately 6x6 meters square. Place two players
with ball to the opposite lines of the square and put a player into the middle of the
area.
Description
The two outside players are defenders and the middle player is attacker. Attacker has
to dribble to the cones and touch them with the ball. Defenders try to react and dribble
to the cones to defend them from the attacker. Attecker can touch the cone when it is
clear the defender is missing. Change the players position. Take care of sufficient
resting period. Maxmum load: 35 sec.
