Lesson Plan 1- Teaching First Aid

LESSON OUTCOME:
Aim:
To give students an understanding and awareness of basic first aid,
specifically resuscitation (basic life support).
It is beneficial for students to have a basic understanding of what to do in
this medical emergency, so if they are ever faced with the situation of
finding an unconscious person, they may be able to initiate live saving
techniques.

PREPARATION:
As this is a specialised skill, having a trained professional speak to the
children (for example a member of St Johns) would be beneficial.
As a video is used in this lesson plan, it would be necessary to have a
projector, smart board, computer or television set up.
