Blood in my eye back cover

The CD itself is a direct representation of

the albums name Blood in my eye. The
blood being the colour red has
connotations of murder and so the artist is
constantly referring back to the gangster
philosophy even through the cd design

The clever use of imagery is

shown through the middle hole of
the cd creating an image of an iris
of an eye, still maintaining
reference to the albums name

White lettering is used to contrast the dark background as it

helps the names to stand out to the audience making them
familiar with what is included in the album. The name of the
song is in white however the featuring artists are in grey
showing that the name of each song is more important

The back cover still uses the cartoon

effect to illustrate the various stages of the
life of a gangster. The artists image is not
needed on the back of album as already
the cartoon imagery helps solidify what the
artists looks like in the mind of an
audience member.

There are a variety of red dots deliberately

painted on the building walls. In my opinion,
this has strong reference to my earlier point
about Ja Rule leaving his mark on the rap
industry as the red dots could symbolise his
removal of any opposition. This was a
reoccurring theme in 80s rap music with the
war between rivalling gangs. Blood In My
Eye along with Murda records, both have
strong connotations of murder.
