Figure 1: Pathophysiology of Pre-eclampsia

The Pathophysiology of Pre-eclampsia shows that the patient will have a signs of
pre-eclampsia the three triads such as: increase in blood pressure, proteinuria and
edema. Also she is in the risk factor such as: age and multigravida. Because of the
signs the patient will be increase in heart rate and will lead to decrease cardiac output
then will lead to vasospasm and vasoconstriction. The vasoconstriction will cause the
increase heart pumping and will become increase in blood pressure. Increase in heart
pumping will lead to decrease in blood supply and will cause the poor tissue perfusion.
Vasoconstriction was divided into two such as increase blood flow resistance and
small amount of plasma leakage. Increase in blood flow resistance will lead to three
causes such as increase in Sodium reabsorption due to increase salt intake and will
lead to sodium water retains and will cause the edema; decrease in glomeruli filtration
rate and increase in urine output and increase in creatinine clearance; and increase in
permeability of glomerular membrane and will cause proteinuria.
Small amount of plasma leakage will lead to protein lost and diffusion of fluid to
interstitial space and will cause of edema.
