Subject: Approval Needed--Measure 66-67 Update

Dear Commissioners:

We have updated information for you on the Measure 66-67 mailing. Please review and provide your approval by 11 am tomorrow (Wed., Dec. 23).

The Secretary of State's office recommends a mailing to every household in the county.

Based on your discussion today, you wish to send the mailing to every registered (voter) household in the county.

The estimated cost for mailing the postcard to every registered (voter) household (118,000 households) in the county is $40,000.

The estimated cost for mailing the postcard to every household (175,000 households) in the county is $30,000.

It is more expensive to mail to registered households because sorted addresses are needed and that increases the processing costs.

Our recommendation is to mail the postcard to every household in the county.

Please send me your approval, or other decision, by 11 am tomorrow (Wednesday).

If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you.

Gary,

Thanks for looking into this. I think that if we do this education piece, we should mail to every household.

RE: Measure 66-67 postcard

Gary: I like what I see and offer a couple of suggestions. The first page with columns should I think look comparable:

Consider using bullets for the effects of a yes vote similar to how the right hand column is formatted. Also may (could) add that a yes vote would simply acknowledge and confirm the budget as discussed, negotiated and passed by the legislature in their 2009 session - or some phrase like this one. Not sure if this would change what the State has already reviewed for us. Otherwise looks just great!

Thanks, Bob
