Background
Africa South of the Sahara is a large area of land which has many countries. Many people do not realize
the different resources available in Africa South of the Sahara. The continent of Africa is very populated
and a variety of languages are spoken in each country. Differences are what make people and countries
special, however, if you never learn about them then you never know how special others are.

Task
You are a geographer working with a group of people assigned to explore the region of Africa South of the
Sahara. You have been assigned to two countries to research and understand the culture, history
(important events), population, lifestyle, physical geography, government, and daily lives of the
people in that country. You will need to identify the main language(s), traditions, customs, economic
development and natural resources for your country. Your team has asked you to create a mini country
and outline the important areas so that at the end of your research task, all of the various countries can be
placed together to make one large map of Africa South of the Sahara.

Audience
The audience is the individual leaders of Africa South of the Sahara who want to know about the other
countries in their region.

Purpose

The purpose is to inform the about each individual country so that all of the leaders can respect the
differences among their neighbors.

Procedure
1. Research the country you have been assigned. Make sure you read where it is located, the
temperatures, the type of government they have and other important information on your Google
Doc.
2. After you have completed your research, you will then download at least 10 pictures showing what a
person would see when visiting your country. One of the pictures must be an outline of the country.
3. Use your information and pictures to create a digital slideshow using WeVideo.
4. The WeVideo must be between 2-3 minutes and must have a voice overlay (your voice) explaining
what we are looking at.
