LessonSequence:
starter activity: What are civil liberties? Give an example of a civil liberty that you
have. (2min)
I will give them instructions on how to do the graphic organizer/reading and the
civil liberties vs security guided questions. (1min instruction, 3-4min for we do
together part one.)
make the groups to do the graphic organizer for filling out during and after the
reading of 6.2 pages 180-187 (20min approx)
activity that questions our liberties vs security during war as well as peace, filled
out in the guided questions worksheet after reading page 188 which is the civil
liberties court case highlighted in textbook.(20min approx)
remind them that tomorrow we will be talking about their graphic organizer as well
as their ending paragraphs for the civil liberties and security questions. (last
1.5min)
Tomorrow we will focus on the WWI home front in which security vs civil liberties is
in taken into question. Also connected to modern societys fight for the balance
between the two.
