As a judge in Hamilton County, I've known him for more than a decade and dealt with him on many stories As a journalist, Kimball is an excellent communicator and a leader. He has the courage to address injustices, the tenacity to dominate his areas of coverage, and possesses the quality of fairness that has earned him respect. Perhaps most notably, he demonstrated all of that when his coverage uncovered misdeeds by a judge who ultimately was tried and convicted. He dominated the coverage by writing all of those stories first and stood up to attempts to discredit him, but still maintained his professionalism. His Twitter feed during that trial was followed by everyone in the local legal community and much of the public, It was the “go to” site for accurate coverage of the controversial trial Kimball has been a journalist for many years here. He knows and is known by practically everybody. He is a tenacious advocate for his audience and has the courage to write the truth with fairness. He is a Greater Cincinnati native, and knows the area, the people and issues well. While I don’t always agree with him, I've found Kimball to be clever but dogged, tough but trustworthy. He has excellent communication skills, knows how to deal with a variety of people and has demonstrated organizational ability required to produce as many stories as he did.
