Due to his story’s content Kimball was often placed in a contentious situation. Yet despite the hazards of his beat, Kimball always, to my knowledge, maintained his professionalism. With Kimball you always knew that he would doggedly pursue his sources; would follow the lead that the facts provide; and would never give up until he understood the story and got it straight. For the people involved that could either be good or bad. Either way you knew it was based on truth and not opinion, bias or politics. Kimball often used social media to break news or keep his audience, including me, informed on the latest events in trials or major government issues. But while others did so because of a desire to be first; Kimball did so out of a deeply held respect for the need. to always be current and relevant, but to be so in a manner that was ethical and that upheld the best interests of the profession. Kimball has lots of sources who tell him information because they know they ean trust him to be accurate and fair. He’s not afraid to ask the tough questions and write the tough stories.
